General Football thread

Football is nowhere near as enjoyable as it used to be. The style of football isn't as entertaining all this tippy tappy bollox , var , sky high pricing ,now they have fanny breaks for religious crap and players that need to hydrate as they can't last until half time for fucks sake , absolute shit show.
Ruud Gullit on Dutch television saying he's had enough of modern football after watching Arsenal vs Chelsea
🗣

"I’ve decided to stop watching football. I no longer take any pleasure in our sport. I watched Arsenal against Chelsea; what an absolutely utterly poor match!
I see players trying to force corners, trying to force throw-ins, and I see ball boys ready to hand towels to the players. Football has become absolutely horrible. I hope this isn’t the path we’re taking.
I want players capable of taking on defenders in duels, someone like Lamine Yamal. I’m missing the joy! I no longer take any pleasure in football. Where are the players who dribble? Where are the players with balls?"

Must admit I have been gradually losing interest over recent years outside of Forest. It's not often I watch a game as a neutral these days and I cant remember the last time I watched MOTD.

Have thought for a while that the time is coming when I'll sack off Forest and start watching non-league football. Went to watch Stapleford Town vs Retford United the other week and enjoyed it.

That time might edge closer when season ticket renewal prices are announced. Let's see if they put them up again given how little interest there has been amongst fans recently. As of last night there was still almost a whole ground of tickets available for next Thursday.

The form they're in, they could easily beat Spurs, Leeds and Hammers in 3 of their next 4 games

Doesnt matter. We need to get to 36 or 37 points regardless

Wolves cant touch us if we do

So personally i would be delighted if they do win those 3 games as they are the teams we are competing with to stay up

Not wolves

I hear you chap. I only really watch Forest games and have a interest in the club out of habit that started in 1974. I never watch games that don't involve Forest and stopped watching international football years ago. I started watching Mansfield games recently because they're local and I like to see them do well. However, this season watching Forest and Mansfield games has been painful and very difficult. I'm completely at a loss with the modern game to be honest.

I meant from the angle that they are likely to fuck up the survival bids of our rivals rather than catch us
Edwards has them determined to go down with pride and the home crowd are right behind them

Yep they are battling now for sure

No team has come close to dominating them like we did when most of the game they couldnt even get out of their own half

Even though we drew

I keep looking back and thinking off the ball we were so good that night it was untrue

We really did bully them and every time they did get the ball we were instantly winning it back

Yet the players didnt enjoy it?

I hated it when people used to reply to a post with "this". But so much this !

I see the EFL have agreed to increase the Play Offs to six teams from next season; what a total farce!

It now means a team finishing 8th can beat the team finishing 3rd to Promotion.

What is the fucking point of playing the league games?

3rd or 4th will still only play a two-legged semi-final and final, though.

If anything, this affects the teams finishing 5th/6th given the extra match they'll play.
