General Football thread

Well West Ham fans aren't happy with Nuno that's for sure. Just as a matter of interest did last season turn to shit about the same time his right hand man fucked off?

Just on this one

I still see people online saying this, about the penalties. I'm sure Huddersfield fans will be bitter forever, because they are unpleasant people.

But those two were never stonewallers. Toffolo's was an outright dive.

We have been denied probably double figures of penalties that were way more stonewall than that since promotion.

Would those two be given for us in the Premier League? No, not a chance. And the ref having not given it, would VAR send him to the monitor for a clear error? Not a chance.

We had a Premier League referee, and a premier league VAR, and now we are familiar with Premier League standards of refereeing for smaller clubs. And we know from that that those two would not have been given.

Remember also that it would only ever have been one penalty. If the first is given the game changes and the circumstances leading to the second don't happen
My thoughts exactly. First one was a dive, he is already in the air before he touches Colback. Second one he backs in looking for contact.

There claim of a robbery is also based on the notion that they would have scored both penalties and against Samba of all people.

I very much enjoyed Slot's latest excuse - that United's starting XI wasn't what he was expecting, as they had prepared for Sesko starting but he was on the bench.

The updated list of things you're not allowed to do against Slot's Liverpool:

- Play a deep defensive line
- Play long balls
- Rotate your starting XI

We can now add 'Long throws' to the list of things you're not allowed to do against Slot's Liverpool.

So Nuno brought us the most success since Frank Clark. Still a great achievement given the years of dross we've suffered.

To me, any Forest fan who doesn't rate winning at Anfield a historic achievement isn't a real fan.

I don't think Nuno, Edu or Marinakis come out of his departure very well, ego games at our expense. That doesn't make me switch to hating or downgrading Nuno.
I wouldn't want to downgrade his achievements, he made us believe again. However, as with wolves he seems to have a plateau where he feels the need to engineer his exit as he arrives at that plateau.

For me it started towards the end of last season, so Edu was the excuse not the reason.

It isn't just nuno but all .managers, what do you say when you've said everything there is to say? How do you keep it fresh ?

As dirty Harry might say "A man has got to know his limitations ". Nunos strength is creating successful teams, can he maintain a successful team or is that when he looks for the exit. Nuno is a creator not a finisher.

I don't want to downgrade his achievements with us, we should all be very grateful for Anfield and Old Trafford. We just need to accept that nuno had taken us as far as he could. We should also be grateful for the fact, that if he was going to do it then it was better to do it when he did - when we had plenty of time to fix it.

Don't think it started particularly well for Moyes either. Wet Spam fans seem to feel entitled without any particular reason to be.

Hearts 3-1 up with 20 to go at Tynecastle. Fans singing “getting sacked in the morning” at Rodgers. Head of steam to being Ange back.
