General Football thread

Jasper Carrott will be sad, but then much of his act was based on Birmingham City being rubbish.
Is he their most famous fan?
His daughter is probably more famous these days but I'm not sure if she also goes up the City.

Just hoping Brighton beat Newcastle and Fulham beat Leeds. Would laugh my hods off to see Newcastle relegated again...

Looks like Mel Morris has failed to sell Derby.

I am not sure that will be the case.

To get to the stage they got to with those Arabian clowns, a memorandum of understanding would have been in place; that would prevent Mel from speaking with any other interested party.

Now that he realises the Arabs have no money he has been forced to call off the deal so that he can speak with other interested parties.

If what I have been told is correct, Mel is in a desperate position; the new interested party are the people Mel owes money to and they are not offering anywhere near as much as the Arabs did.

I wouldn’t. Not that I particularly like Newcastle, but you know they’d dominate the league like they do every time they come down.
I can understand that but I really despise them so seeing Geordies crying is worth it. And you never know, this time they may just fuck up and end up stuck for a while...

Just watched the highlights of the 1959 FA cup 6th Round tie Forest V Bolton on a You tube channel called "The Heavy Roller", apart from Forest scoring 2 the other remarkable sight was the crowd who all around the pitch were beyond the wall of the stand & on the edge of the pitch, and when Forest scored their 2nd there were only about a dozen kids ran on to the pitch for about 10 seconds and then went back to their places. Can you imagine what it would be like today

After four years and a 7th, 14th and 9th place finish with them now in 16th.

It's not always about giving time and backing to a manager. Sometimes it just doesn't work

Yes, that is sometimes the case; looking at his remarks on leaving, he had run out of ideas and wanted out.
