GB News Launching

Starmer didn’t threaten the speaker he just ‘strongly urged’ him. Umm?
What like if you don’t do what Sue and I want we won’t vote you back in at the end of the year? Kinda urge!

Labour had told him its MPs were under threat, afraid of attacks on their families and their security at risk if they couldn’t register publicly that they had voted for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”. Source Independent

Oh my God, leaving aside the slimy Starmer shenanigans, if that is true we have reached the point that the mob are over riding democracy.

A vicious, vile baying minority with their hate and extremism, bringing their bile to the UK and intimidating elected MP's into voting 'their way' - absolutely astonishing.

There are parts of the world where that sort of shite may well be acceptable; it is not and never should be allowed to be in these parts.

And this will get worse unless Plod gets a grip and bangs a few up. Yes people can demonstrate, but some of those at the demos don't seem to understand the British way of doing things.

Tower hamlets springs to mind.

I see all the people who do not care that 12,500 children have been killed because they are brown Muslims are having field day

The far left and the establishment are desperate to kill GB News. They can't have a media outlet that shows up the lies and ridiculousness of the former, or challenges the established order in the case of the latter.

They tried to shut it down before launching, and continue to do so by intimidating it's advertising revenue streams. They're still here.
The media and main political parties tried to mock the channel and hoped it would go away. It didn't.
As GB News has become more popular OfCom have been weaponised (stuffed full of former executives from BBC and other mainstream outlets) to do their worst via official sanctions. The channel continues to gain popularity and challenge their aforementioned antagonists for what they are.

It's no coincidence what is going on. The more people GB News gets it's messages out to, the more intense the attacks on it will be ramped up. It's as simple as that.

That's exactly the same accusation that defenders of the BBC level at the current government, an accusation that is repeatedly dismissed by those in government (some of whom actually appear on GB News as presenters)

Not trying to get it shut down. As a publicly paid for and supposedly impartial channel, want it to be precisely that - impartial. It patently is not (repeatedly shown it's colours on Brexit and Gaza for example and suppressing positive centre right pov and news) and that is what is unacceptable.

Impartiality is a fundamental and unequivocal difference. If it goes commercial it can justifiably be centre left as it is now, just like GB, Sky et al lean either side of the centre.

And that is entirely what this Ofcom investigation is into, the impartiality of GBNews. There are regulations and commitments to being a news channel in this country. It's got nothing to do with public or private funding and even less to do with bizarre conspiracy theories about "muzzling GBnews". Hell the only people who could even begin to muzzle them are some of the very people actually presenting programmes on the GBNews platform

GB News is being singled out and targeted by different standards, we will agree to disagree about that. I'm sure the former BBC executives running OfCom have got their instructions.

No concerted attempt to close down the channel? Lol the media coalition group or whatever it is called even held a seminar at Sheffield Uni to talk about how it could be shut down.
The slug Bolton off Sky publicly expressed concern that GB News had upset the cosy status quo (monopoly), how very dare they.

Yep, and when the seminar question is leading with, “How to solve a problem like GB News”, (how unbiased -not) that tells you all you need to know about their real thoughts and starting position no matter how much they try to gloss over it in the Sheffield Wire; which just happens to be a left wing student journalism platform linked to the Uni. Oh dear, what a surprise.

Perhaps the seminar and Wire could have responded by explaining/reporting exactly what they thought was the problem with GB News in the first place, given how they opened up the 'debate'. Now there's an idea.
