Why are so many within the Church gay ? Does it matter ? What is the point of being gay and celibate as they say they are ? Are all gay priests etc honest about their sexuality, if not why not ?

Is the percentage of gay people higher within the church compared to other professions . 33 % has been suggested.

The various Christian religions seemly historically was/is a place of refuge for gays, which in itself in times gone by was probably laudable, in current times as attitudes have matured and moved on, I really not sure it means what it perhaps once did.

However they have (all denominations) also seemingly hosted a small (large!?) host of other sinister reprobates ..

Do I care?.... Only in as much as that often they are/were in a position to take advantage of the more vulnerable, and sadly have seemingly done so for many years with impunity.

It's for their own congregations to decide about their views on the rights/wrongs of their sexuality, again, I'd say society has moved on and a person sexuality is/should be meaningless, except to themselves, how they square that with their religious beliefs really is a matter for their church and their own conscience.

Personally , it simply doesn't register on my 'who gives a fcuk?!' scalometer.. :10:

There is a deeper implication here. Honesty is surely fundamental in holding a position within the church. The Bible sets out the rules. If those rules are proved to be outdated and therefore ignored then why not ignore the rest of the book. It's all bollox IMO.

If those working within the church can't be trusted the whole thing needs exposing and re- thinking.

If the stats prove there is a need to worry about sexual concerns within the church , parents need to know.
