Galbraith

I find it difficult to believe all the stuff about him being unhappy playing RB. Matos played him as a midfielder once Parker came in and he would have started the final 5 games of the season in midfield had he been fit. He was always going to be playing in midfield for us again next season. Going to Wrexham would be a bit disappointing from our perspective, we should be getting as much money as possible and he’s good enough for the relegated PL teams or the teams who have just been promoted. Unless Wrexham want to pay through the nose (which tbf, they have done for certain players) then I don’t see there being much value in us getting rid to them.

Positive for us is that our midfield is still strong without him but would still be a shame to lose a player like that.

Galbraith knew the situation as we all did. RB became an issue and he was asked to help the squad. If any truth he is playing up about being played in that position then more shame on him. He was desperate to come here and now he wants out? Shame but the squad doesn't need players who play up. I said it before and I'll say it again, Galbraith needs to take leaf from Fulton book. He never plays up and is a professional, irrelevant if you like him as a player or not.

This is why I believe what he says about playing anywhere for us. He’ll have his preferred position on the pitch but no footballer at our level will be unhappy about being picked for the first team, regardless of where they play.

I’d say it’s more about his contract situation if anything. If we consider him to be one of our prized assets (Wales online says we do) then he has a right to be a bit annoyed if we’ve low-balled him as badly as the rumours have suggested.

Alternatively, he could just be wanting a quicker route to the Premier League which Wrexham can definitely offer him.

Who knows, there’s potentially a lot of money to be made this summer though, could be one of the most profitable windows we’ve had in a long time.

The only debate I would have with Galbraith is, he has 3 goals, 0 assists. Yes he contributes to the play, but for someone with little stats he is asking alot since he has only been here for a season.

It’s mainly the eye test with Galbraith. You can just see his quality. His numbers could have been a bit better but he’s one of those players that people can just look at and realise he’s worth something. He’s similar to Grimes in that sense for me. Didn’t always do crazy numbers but most knew how important he was for us.

The numbers thing might affect the price tag though as we can’t point to his G/A contribution like we can with Vipotnik.
