Is Jeremy Hunt a Bell-end ?

We probably all remember the gaffe he made when he was Culture Secretary and narrowly avoided injuring bystanders when a bell he was ringing flew off its handle at an Olympics celebration on HMS Belfast.

But today, the (now) Foreign Secretary seems to have trumped (sorry) that on an official visit to China when he introduced his wife to the Chinese Foreign Minister saying "my wife (who was with him) is Japanese". His wife is actually Chinese ! He has only known her for ten years - easy mistake to make, I guess !!!! Bell-end :clown:

There is nothing worse than calling someone who is Chinese, a Japanese.

Even worse than calling a Lancastrian, a Yorkshireman (or woman).

Yes, he is the end of a bell of the highest order.

Certainly a gaffe, but nothing more. Whatever he is, he still gets extra points for a mixed race marriage, in my book.

He is totally outclassed by Grayling, the man who tried to restrict access to reading for prisoners when Prisons Minister. It took the courts and his successor Gove to unravel that. He has since gone on to do a fine job on the railways.:eek!:

I don't like his politics, or his aggravating manner but this was a human mistake that's all and one anyone could make. I dislike him a smidgeon less for his error.

You dislike him less because of his error? That doesn't really make sense. It was a human mistake but quite a big mistake considering that anyone should know their wife's nationality off by heart, it's actually quite difficult to get that wrong.

I'm sure he knows full well what nationality she is. He didn't get it wrong because he wasn't sure or didn't know. He probably just got the word wrong. We've all said The wrong word before when you full well mean to say something else. Maybe you've got that word on your mind or something.

Of course he knows what nationality she is and just got the word wrong but I was just highlighting it's not really an easy mistake to make with your own partner. Maybe I've got the word Japanese on my mind? what a strange response.

Anyone thats called their teacher mum before will understand how easy it is to simlly say the wrong thing when meaning something else.

The bloke is a ****.

It might have just been a normal slip of the tongue but it doesn't make him any less of a ****.

I really does make you wonder doesn't it ?
My SIL is a senior civil servant and reckons Priti Patel is one of the stupidest person she has ever met.

The bloke is a ****.

It might have just been a normal slip of the tongue but it doesn't make him any less of a ****.

Since when have we had a fcking swear filter? So if I can't call him a **** I'll have to just call him a ***.
