Fulham v Us

A strange season ends with a strange ending for Ashley's NUFC. On one hand the football on offer for well over three quarters of the season deserved relegation but in the other you kind of have to admire the fact that we've finished 12th. If only to realise that broccoli nose has used up all of his luck.

A 12th placed finish with the backdrop of excuses in the form of countless injuries including Callum Wilson missing for 10 games and a coronavirus period which saw us go on a losing streak as well as see Lascelles and Saint-Maximin cattled for a while on the back of it.

If there's no takeover and things remain as they are with full grounds again a possibility then Broocey's excuse book wont half have the pages that he's had this year.

I'm staggered at that post to be honest mate

The facts of the matter are that injuries to St Max and Wilson inparticular have had a massive say in the way this season has panned out - reasons not excuses

Bruce was unlucky not to have those two playing on the same pitch for more games - he wasnt lucky to get them back

The complete lack of quality to fill the gaps (until Willock arrived) highlighting Ashley's lack of ambition and investment

It's like you've decided to completely ignore what actually happened

We don't have the strength in depth so players like Maxi and Wilson have a massive impact on results. Summer transfer window will be interesting and nice for the club to get £20mil more for finishing 12th v finishing 17th.

All teams have had injuries , ask other fans and they will all day such and such a player missing has been key to us not accumulating more points. In my opinion apart from the traditional top 6 sides really , the remainder of teams have a lack in depth. Look at Leicester , not the biggest squad depth for quality but had a very good season .
Yes their owners have invested where necessary but they have an excellent coach who has set his side up to play decent football and the fans of that club look forward to games in a positive light and are genuinely optimistic of beating most teams in the league..... we could not say that with Bruce in charge . For the majority of the season just gone we the fans could not enter a game with the mindset of... we will take these apart today ..... as the manager has piss poor tactics .... How much of the late season push was down to the best players returning? Playing in their best positions ? The new formations that Jones could have suggested ?
Just because there is little to no investment does not mean your team have to be shit !
A good coach with good tactical nouse , quality motivational skills and good man management goes a long way also .

We had an 'excellent coach' TP and the same owner, it made no difference whatsoever.

Armed with that knowledge slagging off Bruce makes no sense at all, it just serves to make our supporters look needy, at best.

Also all teams do have injuries, ask Liverpool fans, they lost their best defender.
Imagine if they had lost Salah as well.
