Controversial I know but.....

I don’t think he has had a good return to the imps

Is it fitness or lack of playing the Cowley way

I’m willing to see how he starts next season.

Too early to tell IMO. Give him a full Cowley pre-season under the supervision of the medical team and see how he starts next season. I thought he started to settle & play some decent football in his last few games including the Wembley match. Brought some touches of much needed control & quality to the midfield

I agree to a certain extent but he did score THAT pen against Chelskids to take us to Wembley. Would the other takers be that cool headed in that situation? Plus his other goals were important. I'm convinced he will be better next season after adjusting to the Cowley ways.

I spoke to a group of Rotherham fans while on holiday last week. General opinion was he's a Millers legend but they did well to get rid of him with his injury record and lack of fitness.

I had my concerns when he signed and I said so on here and elsewhere. If he wasn't called Lee Frecklington and hadn't played for us before, his signing would have worried most people.

I haven't given up hope yet however. Fingers crossed they can sort him out.

Pretty sure Lee has a long standing back problem which has restricted him for the past few years at Rotherham. Family health issues can't have helped either but next season will surely depend on Mike Hine and Co finding a solution to his injury problems. A fully fit and motivated Freck could well be a vital cog in DCs' plans

Arguably an integral part of the play-off team.

Not at his highest peak last season, but we need somebody like Freck alongside the beasts that are Woodyard and Bostwick.

If anyone can get the best out of him, the Cowleys can.

I think the jury is out on this one. It all depends on his pr-season .if he get his fitness levels up , we all know on his day he has a lot of ability and skill. Sadly he looked lost last season and did not really bring anything to the team. Hopefully next season will be a new dawn for him and the Imps.

Yep i ageee. It it was AN Other player that had come in and performed like that i think he'd be getting a lot more negative attention than Freck (rightfully deserved) gets. We've changed formation to shoehorn him in and i don't think his performances have warranted that. As has been said, lets hope a rest and pre season gets enables us to get more out of him.

With a good preseason and DC/NC training and support, I'd venture we'll see a much improved player come August. In the Cowleys we trust!!

Saw signs of what he is capable of in the Coventry game. If we can do an eardley on his fitness I would have him down as one of six or seven in our squad that could make us a top 3 team

Slow start when he came back. But, I thought he was starting to look fitter and more effective just before the end of the season. I'm sure he will be back strong and ready come August.

It's an interesting point when you consider that Freck joined at virtually the same time as Tom Pett and has arguably been given a bit more leeway based upon him being a returning player. Some of the comments concerning Pett in his first few games could have been directed towards Freck. I think it's often expected that players will fit seemlessly into a team when the reality of a move is often somewhat different.

Personally I think both will be key players for us next season once they have had a Cowley pre-season, but ask me again come Christmas

Agree with previous comments but we were crying out for him in the Yeovil game. Still possess that bit of quality but we need more around him on the same wavelength.

I think we'll evolve and maybe we have a couple of players we hope are going to play a role in that.

You might argue we missed a trick not signing players who can slot into our current style to help us over the line but as much as we'd have loved promotion deep down I think we know it would have been too soon.

Well for me, I'd rate his midfield performances as effective and maybe more so than Woodyard or Bostwick. I think Bostwick since Jan has looked far better as a defender than his few returns to midfield (although he was outstanding in the middle prior to xmas). Woodyard has also been wayward at times. Freck though has put in solid measured performances game after game, along with more than a few key moments. At Wembley he was commanding.
So let's have the staff get him up to max fitness and i think we'll all see an top rate Freck next season.
Oh and i would also add that Whitehouse has actually been the very best midfielder for us so delighted he's got a new contract offer.

Exactly - he struggled to assert himself in his early games, clearly working on fitness and method, but was pivotal in the Coventry game. His experience also showed at Wembley, one of the senior players who really stepped up that day and brought the result home with a cool head and calming influence as the game progressed.

A good preseason and the tender care of Messrs Hines and co and he'll be a key player, the presence of Pett and now Andrade will mean he won't be burnt out either.
