Keinan Davis, Andre Green and Easah Suliman have been selected in the England Under 20 squad, whilst Tottenham Hotspur loanee Josh Onomah is in the England Under 21 squad.

Just watching a replay of the Holland vs England match and Onomah looks just another player to me in fact if I wasn't looking out for him I wouldn't have noticed him at all.

I'm not saying he's a bad player but from a Villa point of view from watching Jake Hayes and O'Hare at this moment in time I think he's in the Villa side because he is a Spurs player so therefore better than our kids .
Our kids being younger than him and in my opinion at the moment have shown far more than he has , Especially as they have not been give much chance by Bruce .

Looking at this under 21 England side they seem to be picked on the basis of which club you play for rather than the players ability.
It's not surprising most of these Under 21's will end up in the lower leagues

It's great to have people like you, who watch the youngsters and update us, 57.

Keep up the good work.

:35:

Only thing worth watching at Villa Park are the kids coming through and the enthusiasm they have . The Wigan game was the most enjoyable match at VP for years and there were only 12,000 there to see it or was it 18,000 I know it was pretty empty

Hayes and O'Hare are imo good enough for the first team.

This is what I was trying to get at in the transfer thread. Why take players on loan where there is no option to buy when we have our own.

I agree mate , Onomah isn't as tricky or livewire as O'Hare and he doesn't get a foot in like Hayes.
He's in the side because Bruce has promised him and Spurs game time regardless and that is wrong . I'm not saying those two should be regulars but they should be in the 18 every week now and they're not.

57 - how do you rate Lyden? Thought when he first played he looked very mature for his years. Doesn't seem to get a look-in now.

Yes seems to have slipped down the pecking order due to his injury problems .
One of those all rounder players that doesn't really have a position but will do you a job in a number of roles .
Unfortunately those sort of players are alway behind a specialist .
He's a competitive Aussie though he'll be a fighter if nothing else and I'm sure he'll battle back and be in with a shout like Hayes O'Hare and Mitch Clark who really impressed me , Clark also a local lad I so I'm told as his Dad or uncle is a mate of one of my work colleagues .
Green and Davis now being in the First team it must give the others hope but as we know they won't all make it with Villa , it just never happens .
