Bit of feedback.

The majority of our traffic front page = mobiles.

Majority of traffic in the forum = desktop/laptop.

Anything wrong with the forum now it is mobile friendly to stop users or is it just, as I think, just a fact when on the forum you are usually on and off it from desktop whilst working etc?
 
I very rarely go on any site on my mobile. Generally go an an associated app eg Amazon.

I do FB and Twitter on my mobile, but very little else.

When I have used VV on my mobile, never had a problem. Just not too keen on the smaller screen (think I'm getting old).
 
I use it when out and about, I'd use it at matches if I could but I don't get a signal down where I am at Villa Park.

I've (jokingly) accused Keith Wyness of blocking the internet signal around by me as I can't tweet etc from my seat!
 
Well, the signal at Villa Park is shockingly poor. Even getting out of the car halfway up Trinity Road, it can be patchy.

It a bit of a lottery that's for sure. I have managed to post on Vital once or twice while in the ground, but, normally, I'm lucky if I can send a text without too much hassle.

I answer to your question though, generally go on Vital (and most websites) when I'm on the laptop/desktop, either working or just chilling of an evening.

 
Just concerned mobile forum experience is not what it could be but if feedback from JF and others on here is representative across the network I will stop fretting!
 
Well I am away at the moment so am using my mobile to look at the forum and it is absolutely fine to use . No problems at all
 
The forum's fine on a phone. On an 8" tablet it's fine in landscape but if you look at it in portrait all the adverts appear at the top of the page so you have to scroll past all those to get to the content.
 
Have big issues at villa park with mobile phone. Been on I phone with EE, it was crap. Now on O2 with Samsung galaxy, still crap.

In regards to mobile forum. I am finding it a bit frustrating at times. Hope this makes sense but the pages seem to take too long to settle at times . By that I mean I will touch on a thread and the page seems to settle then I touch on say another thread and the page will move and it means I have have clicked on thread I didn't want. To my untrained eye I think its to do with adverts loading and moving the page. But again not knowing about these things is it something to do with my internet/ad settings on my phone browser? .
The Wolfenstein game ad is particularly a pain in the arse.
Doesn't happen on my iPad.

 
Yeah, unfortunately that will be adverts, it is annoying, have it with other sites as well. Difficult to be able to do anything about that until I win the lotto and remove all adverts I think!
 
My bloody phone is that old,and only got it because wife is worried I will have a heart attack or something when out hill walking, it doesnt have data. Calls and texts only, so its always laptop for me.
 
Laptop for me too.

I'm a bit of a tradionalist. I only use my phone to make calls, text, whatsapp etc. I do use it to read my emails but I return to my laptop to answer emails...... and Vital of course.

I only use the forum on my mobile

I think it's fine apart from the occasional pop up advert which can sometimes get in the way a bit too much
 
To access the site I mainly use a laptop at home - a smaller Chromebook and mobile if away etc. Never had a problem with the smartphone accessing the site.

I don't have a problem with adverts because they must help to keep the site up and running so that's the most important thing.

Plus we have to help pay for the cleaners etc at Fear Towers :17:
 
You know I love a bit of vital so I try to use the forum on my mobile but it’s very frustrating. I use an iPhone 6, so it is a little old but of all the things I do with it this website is by far the slowest. My apps are no where near as slow!

If I’m posting a message, there is a delay in the buttons I press and when the text catches up on screen - which is the reason for all my spelling mistakes. When going into the forums, the topics will load then as I click on one it will have a delay as it’s loading an advert and the delay then takes me to another thread. Even logging into the site is painful.

If I’m scrolling through the forum, it will randomly take me to adverts I didn’t know I’ve clicked.

I don’t mind the forum structure and layout on the mobile, it’s the speed of the pages and the delay that is the issue for me.

My iPad is fine with the forum, but my iPhone... not so

Dan2. I raised same issue earlier in thread. This was JF's response.
 
Both are fine for access for me. I did find it a bit harder to reply to personal messages on my S7 has the reply button could be a pain to find I found a while a go. It seems to be O.K now. Oh yes and I use both la[ptop and mobile
 
I use it on Edge on Android.

I find that it's generally fine but now and then I get an ad that takes over the screen and messes me up.

Jumping back a page then going in again usually solves it - I assume a different ad gets loaded.
