Forget now who is leaving, it's history, who is coming?

Heard whispers that we are looking to sign Godden from Stevenage.

Would be surprised as Stevenage are just saying they will listen to offers for him which usually means a significant transfer fee.

14 goals at League Two level last season was OK but he did not end up being their top scorer.

Maybe he plays behind the main striker and could be paired with Eaves?

Apparently Peterborough are also after him, so don’t think we have much chance as we won’t outbit (or pay as much as) them.

I suspect we’ll sign half a dozen players we’ve never heard of - which is ok with me as long as they’re in the Josh Parker/Tom Eaves/John Egan bracket and not Luke Norris/Conor Wilkinson.

It is true that we are in for Godden, as well as 3 more clubs also wanting him in the off season. They are after a lot of money for him even though that he only has a year left on he's contract. If they stand on there price then we won't be getting him.

The main requirement for next season is a functioning midfield that can turn defence into attack. We have strikers who can score if given the opportunity from midfield, Admittedly another good striker would be helpful, but a midfield playmaker is must.

I agree 100% with those sentiments, plus we definitely need more pace and energy in the side. Garmston is the only one that currently has that but his defending is poor and his crossing is erratic so he still needs to work hard on his game if he can finally stay fit.

There are many gems waiting in the wings at National League 2nd tier level (Nat Lge North & Nat Lge South). Some might see it as a bit of a gamble but those leagues have some fine players capable of impressing at higher levels and, perhaps more to the point, a lot of these guys are affordable.

To start the ball rolling, I`d suggest a 20 year old lad who`s has been playing this past season at Telford. Marcus Dinanga scored a bag full at that level and he has pace and versatility. He`s currently "owned" by Burton Athletic but his contract expires at the end of June and it`s by no means certain that the Brewers will renew it. A gamble on someone like Dinanga could be truly worthwhile. Bit closer to home, Oliver Pearce at Bognor Regis is maybe another worth of taking a punt on. Any other candidates from NLS or NLN ?

Edited to add that Dinanga has had a one year option extended at Burton. Doesn`t mean we couldn`t put an offer in though........

The trouble with going that low in the pyramid players are part time, and can in many cases earn more than Football League clubs are willing/able to pay.

Think we have more than enough unproven players with potential. Any strikers we sign this summer have to have good experience for me.

Still have a feeling that Nash might come good, given the chance

Nash will be totally reliant on the service. If we keep lumping it then we need big players upfront to hold it up. If we get some players who can pick a pass then I agree he has a good chance

I think Nash has been given a pretty fair crck of the whip and has so far shown no evidence that he can threaten League One defences. Reports from training have been less than good too. If he is to make it he needs to get his head down and start performing and quickly. He demonstrates the gamble of going lower down the pyramid, only some gambles pay off.

We still have an interest in who is leaving because we don't know if those offered new contracts will sign them. If they don't we could be in for a very different squad come August.

Not sure when Nash was given a crack of the whip. Beginning of season he looked promosing in the MK away game alongside Eeeevees but since then has had only a few minutes here and there at the end of games.
