Forest vs Leeds thread

Yes, that is entirely possible.

However, I was merely replying to the thought that he needed a target man to work off, a style we do not tend to adopt

Yep

Kali would need to be playing instead of MGW

Alongside Wood, Awoniyi or Jesus

So quite a contrast in styles

The lone striker role he had to play away at sturm graz was never going to suit him

Maybe theres minutes to be had above as Plan B or Plan C

And then we can judge him

But hard for a striker to thrive on limited minutes as above

Dyche likes a big target man, as much for defence relief as for attack. He has in the past played two big strikers in a 4:4:2. He has also played a pacey explosive player behind main striker. Ndiaye at Everton last season played as both a main striker and behind a big striker.

I say all this because the chatter about Kali maybe just that, chatter. At present he isn’t getting a look in but neither was Hutch till the weekend. Dyche still likes a big striker but Kali isn’t completely out of the picture. December looks very busy as does Jan, add AFCON.

Not sure about the need for a target man - looking back to his 'pre-signing' promo video - most of his goals are from being played through from midfield or out wide. He has currently only played a bit part alongside an out of sorts MGW and with no wingers putting the ball in - or even being out wide himself.

So you are looking on him as a cam or winger then?

We all saw the advantage of a speedy direct winger coming on, with fresh legs, playing against a full back who had attempted to mark a drifting all action Dominguez for an hour.

Kalimuendo enjoys attacking from midfield in a counter attack style. He could be very useful away against Utrecht and Braga in Europa. Could even get some minutes v Malmo if they are chasing a goal. With Bakwa injured and Hutch tied an injury/rest for Ndoye MGW or CHO and he may get his chance.

And against mainly shit defences.

How?
Spurs didn't play forwards like that - it revolved around Solanke - who is more of a target than a 'fox in the box'

I dunno I guess I just thought of him as having pace and I'm sure I'd read when we signed him that he was know for work rate. I was just responding to the comments saying he wasn't a good fit being bought for a Dyche type team as Dyche wasn't our manager when we bought him and not even on the radar. It was tongue in cheek about Nuno feeling like he was being done over and not involved in signings, thats all.

I agree its too early to judge him. There is potential there and he is young. He's had a few chances and gets himself in great positions at times but has fluffed his lines every time unfortunately. But I get really annoyed at people writing our signings off with weeks and a few months. He's plenty of time to get to grips with things here especially now TA seems to have turned a corner.
