Forest v Liverpool Match thread sponsored by Smokey Robinson 😂

See my JFK post above.

Oswald was standing by the second floor drinks machine within 90 seconds of shots being fired (allegedly from the 6th floor). A policeman and Oswald's boss are witnesses. Had he lived and stood trial, you'd hope a defence lawyer would have destroyed the case against him within seconds.

But someone had decided to impose a particular narrative - 'Oswald, acting alone, firing three shots', and they even got a Commission together to rubber stamp that conclusion.

If things are corrupt, that will include imposing a crooked narrative which looks superficially convincing. Liverpool fans would clearly prefer to go down that route than honestly admit they got lucky, but actually all football fans are equally deluded so we have to forgive them.

You what?

Would have to be a bloody amazing lawyer.

President shot from the window of a building

Was anyone in that building? Yeah, only one- Lee Harvey Oslwald.

Did he have any reasonable reason to be in that building other than to assassinate the president?

Nope

Could he have done it? Could he shoot?

Yep, he was an ex marine sharpshooter.

Any motive?

How about a past defection to the USSR and admiration of the Soviet Union?

Not sure all the vending machines in the world are going to get him out of that one

Are you serious?

I suggest you read up about the subject a bit. Oswald worked in the building, along with lots of other people.

He was four floors down from the window from which shots were allegedly fired, within 90 seconds of the shooting, and not seen on the staircase by two women who ran down from the 4th floor immediately after the shots.

His background suggests he was a double agent working for the US authorities.

The only thing that continues to make me sceptical about the assassination is the truly amazing accuracy of the shots allegedly taken by LHO.

I didn't know he worked there, so touche

However, that just makes it easier for him to know how to get around the building and where to shoot from.

This 90 seconds thing is a highly dubious. We are talking seconds. People are not generally accurate in judging things like 90 seconds and I highly doubt there was as little as 90 seconds between the shot and them actually finding Oswald

He scored above the level of a sharpshooter in the marines. But two hits from I think three shots, including a head shot, is very impressive

The thing is, the people who can vouch for his alibi are the building supervisor and a motorcycle cop. Not many other employees could claim that level of authority for their alibis.

The cop allegedly saw pigeons take flight from the Book Depository roof, deduced shots had come from an upper floor, and ran into the building. He immediately found the supervisor and they ran upstairs together.

Seeing movement behind a frosted glass door on the second floor, the cop pushed it open and challenged Oswald (standing by the drinks machine with a bottle of Coke in his hand). The supervisor said 'It's OK, he works here', told Oswald the president had been shot, and the two carried on upstairs.

The two women ran down from the 4th floor as soon as they saw the shooting. Their boss stood at the door by the staircase and watched them pass the cop and supervisor who were on the way up. The Warren Commission studiously ignored these witnesses but they were tracked down much later and confirmed their stories.

I'd say it was physically impossible for LHO to run the length of the sixth floor and down to the second floor before these two women emerged on the 4th floor. He certainly wasn't on the staircase after they ran down. Eliminate the impossible, and whatever remains must be true.

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to shooting because I did a bit back in the day. The rifle used was a bolt action of dubious quality. Two head shots at a target moving away from him at the distance given in the enquiry is a bit more than " very impressive ".

Sometimes history is written by those who are quite prepared for you not to know the whole truth in the name of a duty to something they hold dear.

The mass of circumstantial evidence against Oswald takes on a different meaning if we accept that he didn't shoot JFK. It means he was framed. If he was a low level infiltrator-and-informer with an identity as a pro-Castro commie to uphold, it would be easy to manipulate him into doing things which later looked incriminating...

...like buying the crappy Italian rifle - a senator was getting people to buy such weapons as part of a drive to stamp out illegal imports which were undercutting the market for good old American weapons. Oswald apparently had another coupon marked in a later gun magazine, for the same model of the 'JFK assassination weapon' he'd already bought!

For what it's worth, I'm not at all opposed to the idea that JFK was assassinated by someone other than a loan wolf.

I think we can get so into conspiracies though that we fail to see the wood for the trees with Oswald

Who was the last player we had on loan from Wolves?

Elokobi?

Anyway, JFK was a long time ago - just pointing out that the lazy view of 'conspiracy theorists' with tinfoil hats v 'rational people' who know better is a dangerous assumption.

Thalidomide; infected blood; the Post Office and Horizon. All denied and covered up by powerful vested interests.

Betting always carries the risk of match fixing as vast sums of money can be made. I believe it happened back in Brian Clough's playing days. He was banging goals in at one end for Middlesbrough while defenders were letting them in at the other end, much to his annoyance. It later emerged they'd been paid to do so.

So while I hope football in this country is clean, I was alarmed by the narrative about 'clever' Ivan Toney and Forest being to blame for not preventing him from cheating. It suggests betting is quite popular with the footballing powers, which is a worry in itself.
