Forest v Brentford match thread

5 games in hand 10 behind, if they win a couple of those we really need to pull our fingers out and not rely on them being shit.

Stoke should be 2 up, tables looking less comfortable today 2 weeks till we play again.

Preston are in relative freefall, and losing to Luton today. Forest inching their way to the odd point here and there will be OK, particularly with the goal difference much superior to rivals, since each point inched keeps the goal difference OK and unlike last season, when Forest were moving at glacial place to the playoffs and were overtaken by Swansea and Cardiff coming into form, rivals for relegation are also rubbish, so run out of games to overtake. I think Wednesday and Rotherham may get out of it (although they have a small squad, are covid hit and the pressure of games was already intense), but at least one of of them plus at least one of Coventry, Derby, Birmingham, Preston or Huddersfield will finish behind Forest. You would not say that Blackburn are safe either. Forest are also still to play Bristol CIty.

Let's see how we get on against Birmingham and Wednesday. If we lose those we are in the shite.

Wouldn’t it just be spectacular and make up for is being crap if derby went down.

To make yourselves feel better - have a read of their match day thread following their loss to stoke. “Worst derby side of my lifetime” is a real corker.

They’re in real trouble; the made up takeover (don’t rule out the Irish) the £2m pay off to mistakeogh, the sale of the stadium & the fact they haven’t been promoted, so now have to pay it off, they’re bending of FFP to pretty much breathing point & their upcoming academy issues.

This is it.

Regardless of whether they survive by the skin of their teeth, they’re in huge trouble.

The academy players that make up about 2/3rds of their team are barely league 1 standard except for Sibley and Knight.

I don’t really rate any of their seasoned pro’s and as you say, there aren’t any assets left.
