Forest v Bmuff Fred

He’s had 6-8 games there and but for his injury v Sunderland would have remained there
You’re barking up the wrong tree on this one wolfie

I really dont think I am Finbar

I can only find one EPL game hes played centre back all season?

Other times hes played in a back 3 or full back

Ive not looked at non EPL yet but the above alone tells you a little bit

9 times out of 10 whenever we are playing 2 centre backs its always Morato who gets the call

Im honestly not dismissing that he could be a great centre back for us.

Im genuinely questioning how people can judge that from the little weve seen of him as centre back at EPL level

Would have liked to see him there last 2 games tbh

Correct me if Im wrong as Ive researched this as quickly as I can

In the whole season in all games I believe as part of 2 centre backs Cunha has started 3 games only

Wrexham away we lost
Midjtland at home we lost
Chelsea away we won

All 3 of those games I believe he was partnering Morato with us resting Milo and Murillo

Never ahead of Morato

Separate to that hes played a few games as part of a back 3

Dont think hes ever partnered either Milo or Murillo in a back 2. That role has always gone to Morato. Never Cunha.

Hence every time ive seen posters saying Cunha is our 3rd best centre back and/or we dont need Murillo now with Cunha etc

I keep thinking - have I missed something here?

Weve seen plenty of potential. But need to see him play centre back as part of a two loads more to know if hes got it or not.

To me i dont think hes trusted yet for that role.

Certainly behind Morato in the pecking order for that role under all our managers

I dont think Im barking up the wrong tree

Just had to double check that I hadnt missed a load of games where hes played centre back. To me its been noticeable that he hasnt been trusted there other than as IMO 4th choice behind Milo, Murillo and Morato

Just got home

Probably a fair result

Can't say that anyone played badly. Probably no one absolutely excelled.

Their intense press was a nightmare at the start, felt like Villa away.

Drinks break I think manager must have tweaked something because afterwards we were in charge. Great free kick routine, some great chances

They came at us start of the second and we struggled again a bit. They scored, which was fair enough, then hammered us for a few minutes. Their fans were singing about champions league and it felt pretty certain we would go on to lose.

Then they just... Stopped. Can't remember if it was another break or the injury, but word that results were against them seemed to filter through and they just didn't seem that bothered anymore. Both teams settled for a point, with Forest probably just shading it in terms of being bothered about going for the win

Anderson certainly looked like a goodbye to me. Came over especially before the game which he would never do.

I thought Sangare was brilliant and we need to keep him.

Omari Hutchinson at his best is amazing and at his worst a complete liability.

WTF are the Premier League thinking putting all the games on at 4pm, the hottest part of the day? That absolutely affected both teams

Gutted for West Ham, but better them than us. Gutted for Nuno but... I'm actually not. Fuck him

He’s a better football player than Morato. Full stop. And doesn’t have a fuck up in him all game. He started v Sunderland, Morato on the bench.

I’m not decrying Morato, we need both. Cunha is the better player and has already demonstrated this

Those stats very misleading. I dont think they are correct even if you count games where he played as a defender in 3 at the back.

I may have missed a game or two somewhere. Happy to be corrected.

But Ive named the 3 games i believe hes started as centre back as part of a two.

Wrexham away
Midjtland home
Chelsea away

Anything else must be part of 3 at the back or full back or coming on as sub

In comparison I estimate Morato has started as centre back as a 2 at least 15 times and as a 3 a few more games on top

We know VP favours a two when he has a full squad to pick from

So nothing ive seen suggests Morato is 4th choice centre back behind Cunha

In fact the opposite. Morato is always picked ahead of Cunha for that role. Never has Cunha been picked ahead of Morato as far as I can see

And we actually need to see Cunha alongside Murillo or Milo to see how he does with them.

I dont believe hes ever started a game alongside either of them in a 2. Not once. That always goes to Morato.

Makes me think in training Morato is ahead of him by some distance at this stage

But that may change

Certainly do not think we should be selling Morato

Because he looks older I think people forget hes only 24

Hes actually doing very very well for a 24 year old centre back in EPL IMO

He might even become another Milo as he gets older and more experienced

And so there ends my party political broadcast on behalf of Morato

No disrespect to Cunha. He may become better for sure. Maybe hes already better. We need to see a lot more of him to know though. Those 3 games above nowhere enough to judge him on that

He picked Cunha consistently over Morato until he was injured v Sunderland.

Either from the bench or in the 11. He started with Milo v Sunderland

For sure he is.

However, Murillo is a better player than Milo full stop

Doesnt mean you choose him ahead of Milo as a centre back

VP picking his pairings to defend above everything else

Gone back and checked all VPs games.

VP has preferred Cunha over Morato in every game he’s been in charge of, except last week. Often they have both played in the same 11

When Cunha was available, he was brought on ahead of Morato or started ahead of him except once

Clearly shows where he is in the pecking order with VP

I missed one game you pointed out - Sunderland away that Cunha started ahead of Morato. With Milo that i missed
.
Sub games are irrelevant

So as a centre back in a two youve possibly seen Cunha play

Wrexham away
Midjtland at home
Sunderland away til injured
Chelsea away

Do you not understand me saying weve seen nowhere near enough of him to know yet

You say hes got no fook ups in him. Hopefully not when we do see more of him.

And I’m disagreeing with you and disproved your point.

We are marginally debating the preference of VP after Milo and Murillo
And overwhelmingly he’s preferred Cunha. As he should.
I’m very happy with both of them

Hadn't realised Bournemouth have gone 18 games unbeaten.

They did play some good football, but Forest mostly shut them out. We didn't create enough in the second half as our Europa legs finally caught up with us, but we could still have won. Good enough in baking heat with nothing to play for.

I know you love an argument, but this weekend is breaking records for hottest May temperatures. So by definition, no-one expected quite such a heatwave.
It's not that I love an argument, I just disagree with you, and you seem to not like that.

I made my point. You disagreed with it. Your rebuttle was not convincing enough for me to change my opinion, so I defended it
