Forest in Europa 2025-26 - Sponsored by CPFCs Junk Email folder

3-0 up from the first leg allows at least speculation on future progress.

There is a very strange draw here, with Forest almost certain to play two of the teams that were in the league fixtures- a win against Fenerbahce means playing either Betis or Midtylland, with success there meaning that Forest would play the winners of a match between Stuttgart or Celtic against Braga or Porto.

Very strange, when you consider how many teams were in the initial fixture list. Here's the draw:

Still need to finish this off next week though

I mean "almost certain if they get through"
My point is that we might have expected to see new faces at the City Ground, but in fact, will not be seeing anyone other than Midtylland, Real Betis and after that a 50% chance of it being Porto or Braga.

Shows that despite some iffy games from us we have already come up against the best teams in the competition
I think Villa and maybe Roma are the best teams in it but if our upward trajectory in Europe continues I would only really be concerned about Villa.

Lyon have won 13 straight matches in all competitions and finished 1st in the league phase. They’ve done pretty well for a team that was relegated and thrown out of Europe at the end of last season.

If Forest get through these next games, they have either Aston Villa or Lyon waiting for them.

Europa League draw at 12 pm. I am quite disappointed at the conventional, western European make0- up of the last 16. It would have been interesting to be playing in Bulgaria, or ex- Yugoslavia, or Greece, but all those teams have gone out (apart from Panathanaikos). If Forest play there, there will be mental opposition to Marinakis due to Olympiakos.
But most of the destinations look pretty sedate.

Jordan agrees

Forest v Midtylland- need to improve on the set- pieces!
We sort of owe them one don't we, our defending was of joke proportions in the previous game under Ange, get that right this time & we should be OK I reckon as long as we can play "the first team". Do we know yet who is at home first

I think we will be at home first in all rounds, as we are now a low ranked qualifier.

Panathanikos have betis so think we can only face them in the semi final/final stage. Would be a hell of game tho

Just looked on AA Route planner - c16 hours drive, only direct flight to Bilund is from Heathrow & with a 12000 seater stadium, we'll probably get no more than a 1000 tickets (probably less).

We need to turn up at CG for this fixture & if we play the fringe players, we'll be out before the 2nd leg!
I flew to Bilund from Stanstead in 2012. That option now gone?
