Football During Coronavirus Crisis

Spurs game officially postponed. Everton game is a worry, could be a "six pointer" as we aim for a european spot. I'd hate to see us severely limited in who can play on Sunday because of Covid.

At least there is one positive to come out of this covid outbreak a lot of the players are unlikely to get re-infected anytime soon, obviously that does not stop other clubs having to cancel games due to the same reason.

For those who have the virus I would think it may be some time until they are back up to speed. We have shown really good fitness levels and work rate, especially in the last 15 mins of games.

Good to see common sense prevailing.....which is quite a surprise for the Premier League and TV companies! Putting our game back at the weekend should mean we can prepare more effectively for Everton. Whole situation isn't ideal but decision today seems like a decent compromise.

Why is Dean S quiet on this? Does he want to play it? Or is he pressured to?

He should be countering Jose's pleas to play it if WE don't want to.

All sorted now but what if Dean is one if those infected and possibly pretty poorly at present? Before we start questioning why individuals aren't doing this or that we should perhaps remember that the likes of Dean could have other more important things to deal with at present ie their health!

Yep, more serious than our football fix isn't it. This is one of the reasons people don't take Covid seriously is the casual reactions to footballers getting it , sort of oh well let's rearrange and play Everton on Sunday.
Hopefully, the lads are just positive and have no side effects or worst lasting effects. I get that they are mostly very fit young men but it only takes an underlying health problem we know nothing about such as the asthma one of them is said to have.

Would not be surprised if the Everton game is postponed. Sensible to schedule but lots of hurdles this week for us to get over before being ready to play.
Could be depending who has it and who is just isolating I suppose, I think I read 4 players had it? but 9 were positive or isolating.
I don't suppose we'll find out who Jack was watching the FA cup game and tweeting so I think he must feel ok. The rest are very quiet

Yes. And the training ground isn’t open yet I am guessing?

Common sense that Spurs will now play their postponed game v Fulham. Good idea that. Most surprising for the football authorities to use common sense innit

What’s the difference between positive and having it. Symptoms?

Nothing, positive is positive, so you have it.

But some are asympomatic - they have the virus but it doesn't display any symptoms. They are the tricky ones, because obviously you don't go for a test, or stay in, if you don't know you have it as you don't feel ill!
