Fixture Release Day

C_Latic

Vital 1st Team Regular
You know the drill by now, 9am release time.

As always, I'm hoping for the relegated Prem teams in August whilst we have momentum and they are yet to get their respective houses in order. Wins in recent years against the likes of Stoke and Cardiff in August add weight to this.

We've lost four of our last five away fixtures on the opening day, but won our last two at home, both under Cook in the Championship so fingers crossed for the latter. In fact when it comes to our first away league match of the season, we've lost seven of our last eight, the anomaly being MK Dons in Cook's first game in charge.

Rentboys will be at home in the Good Friday derby next year, so we will be away and then at home on Easter Monday. Championship season pauses following the round of games on November 12th-13th for the World Cup and resumes on the weekend of December 10-11th.

Now how do tenants take priveledge over their landlords in the fixtures. The EFL wont take this into consideration surely. Theyll just churn the fixtures out and if we have an home game on good friday then those parasites can play saturday or thursday. Bollocks to them.

The club usually requests that we play away on Good Friday to accommodate it. It's their one and only big crowd of the season, so it suits us considering the pittance they pay us in rent is based on gate revenue.

Blackburn at home is the rumour. Would be a tasty fixture and one we've done pretty well in as of late - 10 games unbeaten dating back to a 3-0 defeat on New Year's Day 2007.

As for Blackburn away... 1 win in 15 all-time!

Didn’t think derby matches were allowed in the opening and last days? Given how many there are perhaps an exception is being made.

Think there is an egg chasing ‘world’ cup game at our ground too, so assume we’ve requested to play away on that date too.

Aye that’s on the penultimate weekend before the break. I have a ticket for it, pretty sure it’s England playing provided they don’t cock up somewhere along the way.

If Blackburn was true then we probably couldn’t have asked for a better start, although no doubt they’d make this post look stupid come August. Home game against a team we have a great record against at the DW going through a transition now Mowbray has gone, although we’ll have no idea how they’ll play under JDT. Hopefully they sell Brereton Diaz before then.

I'm sure the EFL will go out of its way to ensure that we are away to a Premier League reject. What are the odds?
