We’re at home first match of the season, as new Head Coach Steve Cooper was hoping.
With 6 matches in August and 7 matches in February it’s a tough schedule.
Yet only 3 matches in September, presumably for the Internationals break.

The Cardiff fixtures will be bubble matches obviously, but what’s the betting that the Bristol City matches will be too, after trouble at Bristol last season by idiot fans.

Especially tough are the midweek away matches, what with work next day for most.
Whoever does the fixtures gives no thought to the travelling fans.
I remember Sunderland down here midweek a few seasons ago, their fans must have got home in time to get up for work the next day with such a long journey. I know, I did it several times when we were in the PL.
Charlton are another away midweek, a ground with huge history and a record attendance of 75,000 many years ago. Now it’s 27,000 all seating after the stands were rebuilt.
Other midweek matches include Fulham and Huddersfield. Fulham fans are usually friendly and it’s a nice short London trip by the Thames. Huddersfield is in the depths of Yorkshire, did it last season, nice ground on a hill at the edge of a forest.

I’ve also done the Cardiff away bubble match. For me the problem was having to drive to the Liberty to get the bubble bus and driving home afterwards, adding 40 miles to the journey as I live half way between the two clubs.
It’s well organised though and fans are kept apart as much as possible and I never saw any trouble.

Make that 7 matches in August. We’ve just been drawn at home to League 2 Northampton in the Carabao Cup on Tue 13th or Wed 14th, sandwiched between Derby away on Sat 10th and Preston at home on Sat 17th.

Swansea fans will have to travel a total of 1,316 miles getting to and from midweek away matches this season, the furthest of any other club in the division.
QPR on Wed Aug 21 (320 miles)
Charlton on Wed Oct 2 (342 miles)
Huddersfield on Tue Nov 26 (334 miles)
Fulham on Tue Feb 25 (320 miles)

Glad we're at home first for a change! I was expecting yet another away start. The schedule is crazy but we'll be used to it now after last season. It's new for Cooper though to get used to the 3-game 8 days.
