Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Dion Charles from Huddersfield Town on a season long loan deal.
The Northern Ireland International and former Pool academy graduate will bring a wealth of experience to the Seasiders forward line having played 250 times in Sky Bet League One across his career.
Charles scored 57 goals under current Seasiders boss Ian Evatt during his three-year stint at Bolton Wanderers. The forward also scored in the EFL Trophy Final in 2023, helping Evatt’s Bolton win the competition for the second time in their history.
The 30-year-old has been prolific at a number of clubs in the North-West including AFC Fylde and Accrington Stanley, who he scored 19 goals for in League One back in the 2020/21 season.
On joining the Seasiders, Charles said:
“As soon as I heard that the move was on the cards, I jumped at the chance to come here.
“The gaffer knows what I’m about. He can get the best out of me and I’ve played the best football of my career under him so it’s really exciting times.”
Head Coach Ian Evatt said:
“I’m delighted to be able to bring Dion to the Club and work with him once again. He is someone I was keen to reunite with as we had a very successful period together at Bolton Wanderers.
“Dion is a top player who knows how to score goals in this division. He will add real quality and experience to our forward line and I’m excited to see what he can produce in a tangerine shirt.”
