They've now announced that the World Cup will be in the winter of 2022 in Qatar, and that the 2021 Confederations Cup will be moved due to the high temperatures in the country over the summer (which everyone knew beforehand)

This also means the 2023 AFCON will be moved to the summer...in Africa...to avoid the World Cup.

So, they've managed to ruin three international competitions along with the entire domestic and international club competitions of Europe. They've certainly outdone themselves, and that's saying a lot.

If Qatar are serious as a footballing nation, then they should be investing in air conditioned stadia

How this question about the heat and when they would play the finals did not arise until after the selection is unbelievable , surely anyone with an IQ bigger than their shoe size must have said, 'how hot is it in the summer then?' :doh!: :doh!: :doh!: :doh!:
 
Apparently Australia's bid was knocked back for the very reason it was too hot and they would have to play it in their winter.
