FIFA For Sale

Totally agree. I'd be amazed it the boycott sticks and works. No country will ultimately stay out of the WC. They will take the money.
Most of the countries we view as foundational would never host another WC. I think they might just hold out if South Americans join them

UEFA hold the cards. FIFA will blink first. The money FIFA are bribing the associations with wont be there if European teams are not taking part. Not sure you understand just how much resistance there is to this.
Thing the $30m being "offered" (which doesnt even exist yet) will be a lot to the Cape Verdes and Ecuadors but to the big European sides it's relatively small change (its less than 5 years pay for an England manager).
This feels the same as the row over the Super League to me. It's like Infantino has put the feelers out by dressing this up as a "proposal" but will back down when he realises all of the most saleable assets won't be in the end product. Who's going to buy a stake in that?

I don’t think you could buy just one of Jude Bellingham’s legs for $30m these days, the biggest issue is with it is that member countries have been told to vote for it or else get nothing (even if it’s passed anyway).

Hopefully, members will find the "balls" to instigate a vote of no confidence in FIFA`s president.
I believe he has the support of the majority of FIFA countries.

I'm not an expert in this at all, but my understanding is that every member country has one vote. So Botswana's vote is as important as Englands.

It doesn't take a genius to work out why Infantino is popular with African countries

Why do you say that? European countries often bid to host a world cup, and the next one is in Spain / Portugal
If the proposal goes through with Infantino, Kushner and the likely investors from the Middle East it will settle into a regular tour of that part of the world. The US will probably get it every 3rd time or so.

Infantino appears to be challenging a number of American politicians for the title of Narcissist in Chief.

And even if it is forthcoming, I suspect it will be a one off sum, not annual contributions - the very definition of a bribe.

The BBC in their article point out that there already enough counties who’ve voted in their respective groups for FIFA not to be able to command a majority but he still won’t pull it. The man’s a moron.
