It should not make any material difference; the loss of earnings will have a far greater impact.
The two years have been combined into one set of accounts so that a detailed assessment can be made on the impact the disruption has had on the game.
For example, at the moment no one knows if and when spectators will be allowed back into the grounds, and in what numbers when that does eventually happen; that makes assessing loss of earnings through gate money impossible to estimate.
Once the numbers are known, the EFL will be able to determine what allowances can be made to offset the loss of earnings.
I notice that some reports suggest that the rules have been relaxed, and then go on to suggest that owners will be able to pump money into their Clubs with impunity; that will not be allowed to happen.
So far, with the exception of Brentford, no one has been splashing out on big signings, and in Brentford's case that will be financed by one of their players leaving.
