That team could have gone on to bigger and better things but it all seemed to fall apart. Roy, Collymore, Bohinen - if they had stayed and we had added a couple more class players ...well????
The thing is I don't think any of the three did themselves any favours and I don't think any of them played as well after they left.
 
I suppose it is the same old story, the grass is always greener for some players, the lure of the "big" clubs, but wasn't it great I remember driving to the CG and listening to radio Nottingham discussing the pro's and cons of the chances of possibly winning the top league in England, can't see that happening again, just keep dreaming of another Clough & Taylor arriving at the CG, problem is that is more unlikely than us winning the PL

I was there that day and it always ranks as my favourite ever game. It wasn't just the 4 goals, we totally outplayed them that day and everyone suddenly realised we were for real and it was going to take a hell of a side to stop us.
I am one of the lucky 'old buggers' who lived through it and witnessed it first hand.
 
I think we might Sticky this in Site Announcements when it starts to slide down the page. There's too much good stuff to waste. We can keep adding to it, hopefully there's much more to come.

The first ever game i went to, think i was 8. My Mum had bought the tickets and Dad woke me up early on the morning of the game to catch the bus, i didn't have a clue about where we were going til all the road signs started saying 'Wembley'. Good times.

Class game did anybody else go to Brentford v Bournemouth beforehand that wasn't a bad game either finished 2-2 what I can remember

One video I would like to see is Manchester U v Forest at Old Trafford the 1st season in the top league Division 1 at that time under Cloughie, I think it was 1-4 to us( probably too long ago though)
