FAO - Sixpence

I was looking for something on the net and look what popped up!

Memories! I think health and safety would have something to say these days. They must have been a fire risk, don’t you think?

I thought exactly the same when I saw it! I'd forgotten they used real candles.

Maybe pretend oneshadnt been invented! Lol

Maybe they hadn't! I remember having lights on our tree when I was young that were shaped like candles - they were just a normal string of lights but with a candle shape over the bulb and you clipped them to the branch. Don't think they lasted long.

We had individual metal clip on candle holders on our tree. We put candles in them but never lit them! Phew!

Oh, right! I have two candles that appear every Christmas when we put the tree up and couple of decorations I can find these days. They go in some wooden candlestick holders that were made for my parents when they got married in 1941. I've never lit the candles and only noticed this year (must have had them ten years) that they have numbers going down to 24 - so they must be Advent Candles!
