FAO Bromley GFC - ST Prices

Vital Champions League
How much do you think we should charge for STs next season?

What do you think the increase in uptake would be?

Others feel free to join in.

Personally I’d make them £20 cheaper than last season. I think any increase will be the final straw for a lot of people. A slight reduction would acknowledge the poor quality the Priestfield crowd have witnessed this season.

However slashing prices to Millwall or Charlton levels won’t see a big enough uptake to make it worthwhile for the club. The same people criticising ST prices will then happily moan about the playing budget.

Playing devil's advocate and just to be contrary.

No season tickets, straight £15 POTD all stands, unreserved seating and all U16 tickets are free.

I know that Mark, by my suggestion is never realistically going to happen, I just like the idea of it.

Still think a pay on the day/cash turnstile on matchday is still a no brainer but what do I know.

For people with work commitments during the week or Saturday's it would make life easier.

Drop RE prices to £250-275, Medway Stand £325-350, whatever it takes to get a regular 7,000 through the gate. Each adult ticket sold gets a free U13 ticket for a 'family' member to try to get kids into supporting the club. Reduced prices for 14-18 year olds.

Single match prices at around £15 a game. £5 for U18.

There's no point having a ground less than half full. Only a handful of away teams are going to bring significant numbers. The more people through the gates, the more revenue from food, club shop, etc.

The games are going ahead anyway so may as well get as many in as possible. If it doesn't increase total revenue, review again next summer. This would obviously pee off the 2 year season ticket purchasers, but by and large that was a flop anyway.

Sounds good? £15 a game (£345 a year) yet you want Medway season tickets at £350.
Player budgets are based on season ticket sales, the above would ensure no season tickets are sold.
The only sensible way to reduce prices is by graduated decreases, sell 3000 tickets at x price, reach 3500 and the price drops, 4000 the price drops again and so on.

Do you think those very good prices (for the Rainham End at least) would see a 35% increase in STs sold? That’s what you’d need to break even roughly compared to keeping them the same price as this season.

Agreed, this is the method that’s being used elsewhere.

I expect the season tickets to remain at the same price because we need the money after having carried out the two year sale this season. Those who are looking to renew will expect to pay the same price and most of those not renewing would not renew anyway.

Any movement I would think would be in the concessions and give aways.

If the Medway Stand was £350 I would get one for next season. But at £400 (block C) missing a few games through holidays and work etc just doesn't make it worth it (special deals etc) especially with what was on offer at the start of the season.

I like that idea you can get a snowball effect where more people pile on as it goes closer to the next threshold. I think it would work better with some other significant change e.g. (dare I say it) new ground, manager or owner. Something needs to be a catalyst for new hope and expectations as well as the ST deal.

I can't see us doing it though.

You mean you go to gills for good football ! After all these years I just expect the occassional excitement and then hope for the following season lol.

Amazing as the most excitement of the post Championship period for me has been the Hess periods (high scoring games not league position) and the GOF and these are the periods that lots of fans ridicule.

£15 per match was more an idea for the Rainham End, let's say £18 for the Medway Stand. Also bring ideas like 5/10 match carnets into play.

Any pricing strategy has to be a gamble, but I don't see the current one working and our highest attendances this season have either come as the results of freebies or large discounts. We may as well take the hit on ticket revenue but claw some, if not all of it back through catering and merchandise.

Making up some rough figures which may work:

Up to 2000 = £375
Up to 3000 = £350 + 1 cup game (pre-Prem entry)
Up to 4000 = £300 + 1 cup game (pre-Prem entry)
Up to 5000 = £275 + 1 cup game (pre-Prem entry)
Over 5000 = £250 + 2 cup game (pre-Prem entry)

Open up BMS at flat £200 until over 5,000 season ticket holders, then £150.

Kids and OAPs accordingly.

Maybe include wrist-bands for the Factory?

Sounds good to me.

Lots of "the ST should be this amount" but no explanation as to expectation of attendance rises to cover it. I'm sure you have all done detailed calculation on Excel or 1-2-3 Lotus before coming up with these numbers

Absolutely spot on jerry. I suspect even the naysayers enjoyed those times more than they now acknowledge. The atmosphere around the ground was way more positive.

As to ST prices I'm in favour of trying out a sliding scale and hope Scally has the nerve and imagination to go that way. Any standard offer involving an increase will send the already poor sales further down.

I am being thick about this suggestion of dropping the prices the more you sell? If that was the case wouldn't everyone just delay buying?

Given the club needs cash flow early on where is the incentive to commit early?
