That’s what I’d do as well. Could open it to the public and also as digs for young academy players assuming they are building on the old soccerdome. Casino on the ground floor as well and we’d coin it in, especially if concerts actually do happen in the summer.

Speaking of concerts, don’t know who the club can attract but Liam Gallagher will almost certainly be doing the stadiums next summer following up his arena tour in the winter. Get him booked in with Ashcroft supporting and it’s a guaranteed 30k sell out.

They said we only have a few available dates as we have annual pitch renovation and Warriors fixtures during our off season so it will depend who is touring at those times. You got impression they currently weren't thinking of any gigs during our season.

It all comes across that the club have a plan and are trying hard to implement it , they are getting players out in the community and trying to put match deals together .
But if we are down near the bottom all season they have no chance of getting supporters in .. on another note ..
My lad (5) has been invited down to Everton academy so he asked me for a kit to train in so i went on there site and bought him a full kit inc socks for £15 .. a Latics kit £65 ..
How many of those are they going to sell ?

I went last night and feel that a change of manager would be appropriate now. However, the feeling I got last night was that the board are happy with Cooky and keep quoting our home form as being the reason we are ’doing ok’. The problem for me with that stance is that for me,although we might be getting results at home, we are not,in my opinion playing well and sooner or later the bubble at home will burst........tactically and player wise, I don’t think we are good enough ( only my opinion).
I also wish Cooky had answered my question last night about tactics and not just laughed it off.........I’d love to know why we persist in the cross ball passing in midfield, then pass backwards, then lump the ball up field, which usually ends up with the ball going to the opposition. Why don’t we use our wingers, get crosses in and let Moore run onto the ball (as he did for Wales) instead of just lumping the ball to him with him playing with his back to goal?

My observations - it appears some went with an open mind
I’m happy for you that are deflated and disheartened. It’s your favoured way of viewing football after all.
Happily for me, the football starts again in a few days so I dont need you miserable lot to entertain me for a while. Seriously, you and your cronies do spoil things, I’ve said it before, you’ll all enjoy your football more if you stopped your bloody cyber-wailing.

I am saddened and sorry for you that you find happiness in the shite that is served up. You have been patted on the head last night, told to be a good boy and not question things.

Quite enjoyed the forum tonight! Think it was blindingly obvious that Cook has the full backing of the club,he stated that 4,4,2 would never be seen while he is in charge and that the squad is better than last season but that the team isnt! Very honest with his answers and went down well! Awkward questions were asked and answered! All in all enjoyable
Pretty obvious he would say that really as he favours dour, boring, negative crap. We need to get shut of this negative shite forever.

Was anything mentioned about a new stadium name ?

Nothing asked or mentioned in that regard. I suspect DW naming rights will have been an existing contract they inherited and they would just need to wait for that deal to expire before they can look at alternatives. I've never heard anyone suggest how long the DW naming rights would last.

Another thing that i forgot to mention was someone asked a question about brining in a psychologist to try and get past the mental block on away games - but that was another one laughed off without a genuine response. To be honest i thought like the long ball question that wasn't answered and it was a fair question.

I had 2 questions in - one was 'we appear to be going long ball more often this season - is that a deliberate tactic to go more direct or is it the players doing it under pressure' - that wasn't asked but probably considered too close to Charlez question.

My second question was 'how would a potential relegation effect IEC's plans / sustainability of the club financially' that was asked in the middle of flurry of about 10 questions read out in quick succession to Jackson and Royle but that wasn't one of the number that got answered. They had so many questions at once i dont think they deliberetly avoided it they just couldn't remember everything that was asked as there was so much at once.

Seems to me that staying in this division & being about the 40th best team in the country is as far as things are aimed for at the moment which for a club our size is a decent thing I suspose, but hand on heart I think we all wanted (even the "happy clappers) to be top 10ish. Yes we may well get that high yet but again hand on heart I doubt it.

That's near identical wording to my first question King, I also asked if it was a managerial tactic or something that the players were lapsing into. I don't believe either of us got the answer we were looking for, even with Charlz question being similar.

My second question was "As football fans rather than club officials, how would they rate the entertainment offered so far this season".
That one didn't get a mention either.

I left pretty disappointed really, I was hoping for more, although I don't know what I was expecting. I doubt I'd go again (and I consider myself much more of a clapper than a doom merchant so I should have been in my element really).

The most interesting point for me was when someone asked what single position they would strengthen in the next window, Cook skirted the question saying he couldn't really comment given his relationship with the current players, I can't remember Jackson's response, but Royle said we are definitely lacking creativity going forward, which to be fair I don't think any of us would argue with.

Interesting to hear that Arthur - although i think our questions were different to Charlez i understand how when they are trying to avoid repeating the same subject and flicking through questions that are broadly on the same subject they maybe miss the nuance and think one question covers the bases when perhapse it doesn't. But it sounds like your second one was skipped as there wasn't anything at all like that one asked and it would've been a good question to hear an answer to.

These are undoubtedly a PR exercise and a little maybe staged managed, but i'm still glad they do them as many clubs may not bother having one at all. But i did leave a little disapointed in some senses but at the same time i understand the nature of these things and why the club would do them in the way they do. If i was in charge i'd probably do the same tbh.

I work in PR and there is no way you would let your spokespeople be at the mercy of questions being fired at you by members of the public that you didn’t know were coming. They will have taken the questions, put them in categories and decided with the host which ones he would read out. I would also have expected them to have a little rehearsal beforehand to make sure everyone was on message, which is completely understandable as there will be some questions of a financial nature they wouldn’t want to go into detail on and some questions which may refer to some existing players which Cook will want to dampen down to protect that player/manager relationship. I understand some fans wanting answers to certain questions but last night was an exercise in bringing the fans closer to those guys at the top and so the club deserve credit for putting it on.

He doesn’t have an answer that’s why.
and
don’t want to listen to excuses and the master plan of relying on luck.

MiW, if you can live with losing 1 to 2 hours of your life it might be worth a listen once the video / audio is released, as the away form is covered quite a lot.
The shared recollections on here, whilst accurate as far as I can remember, don't give the full picture that was presented (it's very difficult to articulate everything here).

I got the feeling that they are as exasperated as the rest of us with the away form, that they have tried many different things and that there are several contributing factors, but the most telling one for me (if my memory isn't failing me) was Cook admitting that (amongst other things) the calibre of player that we have got / can attract is just not good enough at the moment for the level we are at.

Cheers Arthur. I won’t bother with listening to it tbh as the consensus is anything contentious wasn’t addressed. As such I’m happy to go with the reviews yourself and others have taken the time out and trouble to post on here.

Thanks for posting the above. They are facts.

Glad i didn't go, sounds like the waste of a night, just one thing...Was anything answered at that fans forum or was it just laughed at?

The laughing and sneering at questions asked just show you exactly what dickheads we have running the club, bloody pig ignorant people that think they are above the fans.

Reading the posts on here make my blood boil.
