A man who won a £101m Euromillions jackpot does not have to "cough up" financial support for his son "whenever asked", a court has ruled.

--------

For some this might be 'Court in sensible decision shocker' but they make them quite often.

I agree with the ruling but I think the question is a bit divisive, in this particular case I believe that the father is doing the right thing by his son by not coughing up money as required so he is actually choosing both the money AND his family.

What a complete tosser the son is! Seriously he needs to take a very long hard look at himself. Jesus, what kind of society are we raising?

Can't be a very close family can it? Win over £100m and only give that much?

However, can't believe that went to court, the dad had the right to give him nothing if he so wished.

Looks like his Dad didn't trust him too much in the first place. To spend that much in a short space of time vindicates his decision i think.

And the truth is a bitter pill to swallow, IF he gave his son £1 million then he would have paid the tax man £1.2 million in tax.... You cant just give someone a million quid as they have to pay 60% in tax.....

Now If I won £101 million and I gave my son a million he would blow it within 3 months.
He would (like this dickhead) be writing cheques his finances could not support, new house, new car, the biggest marine fish tank it would be possible to make and as many big shiny fish to fill it.

He would not care one fucking jot how much he was spending he would be out of control, to this end I would not give him a million.... I would stick money into an account and he could live off the Interest............ Obviously he would have money, but giving a pound foolish person a million quid is nothing short of asking for trouble.

And...before anyone asks I love my son and even though he is 38 I had to bail him out the last time just last year.....

I don't think you pay tax when giving winnings to family ... that was my understanding anyway. I could be wrong (not often though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

How much would I get Col8 ?
