Fabregas & Chalobah escape punishment - it's a stitch up

Alert Team
I know that there is a separate thread on the subject of City & Chelsea being charged by the FA for failing to control their players and of course their is a massive overlap here.....

But the decision not to take further action against Fabregas or Chalobah.....even though I didn't expect any becasue Taylor (aka the coward) chose to book them on Saturday....... has gotten my blood boiling this morning.

This article sums it up and proves that we are perhaps not alone in wondering just what it is that the footballing powers have against our club.

TOTAL STITCH UP

The Angry Column: Cesc Fabregas decision means players can slap whoever they like

W T F?

For anyone that missed the slap it's at the start of this vid with his left hand, have a look before the PL have the video removed again

The more I see it the worse I feel.

Sickening, sly cheat.

How the panel decided that no further action was merited is unfathomable. The slap was not the worse in the world but the whole series of actions taken together - how can they ignore that behaviour which is intended to get another player into trouble? Total **cking stitch up.

He goaded Fernandinho and immediately started retreating down the slope towards the hoarding. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing and how he has gotten away with his snide behaviour I cannot fathom.

If he makes an appearance in the return fixture I would lay odds on Fernandinho taking him out at the knees and it would almost be worth watching no matter what the result of the game.

Absolutely livid :019: :019: :019: :019:

And the weird thing is - I expected this to happen so why am I now SO mad about it?

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH :067:

It wasn't the worst in the world but then you see Nolito getting sent for rubbing his forehead against the side of another player's head.

Some are more equal than others it seems.

The club has to act on this, if only to seek clarification again on what the rules are.

I didn't think my flabber could be more gasted

The understanding always was "you raise your hand towards the face of an opponent and it is a red card". Isn't that what Aguero was retrospectively charged for after the Reid incident? And yet this action merits no further punishment?

They are effectively saying now that the degree of force is the determining factor.

And they wonder why players over react - when they set this kind of precedent where is the incentive to be honest?

I disagree as to the severity of the 'slap' - I've watched this several times and it's not that clear. I can only assume it must have been a fairly hefty whack for F25 to lose it in such a manner. Fabregas is being pushed backwards repeatedly by the throat by F25 until he loses his balance and you don't do that unless someone has really hurt you. F25 is hardly known for 'putting it about' so the 'slap' must have stung him into action.

Good to see our heroes aren't afraid to give it back to the opposition. Whilst I hate diving and cheating if a player is being horrid to you then give 'em a taste of their own medicine, no point complaining to the ref that so and so is being beastly. We cannot be seen to be soft touches and I'm looking forward to more of this.

Whoever is in charge of ref school must ensure that all officials are singing from the same hymn sheet. If there is a problem they need to address it with training courses and away days. No point blaming refs, they require guidance from above. Those of us who love the beautiful game crave consistency above all.

He doesn't lose balance, he has a look back at the hoarding and allows himself to fall back over it, knowing full well how it would look.

There's every point in blaming Taylor, he lost control in this game after the first 15/20 minutes, that's on him and him alone.

It is a bad angle that and I have seen a better one on Sky, but they cut out the bit where he slaps F25, its not a tap but i do think it is harder that CF intends, but it got the right reaction from F25.

His sly look over his shoulder is telling. Plus the way in which he refuses to make eye contact with Fernandinho as he retreats down the slope at the side of the pitch.

Taylor is responsible for that fracas as I stated in my Three Things thread.

The authorities will not take any responsibility for that though

People must stop blaming the refs and start looking at the training and support that they get from their organisation. If an official is below par then he shouldn't be officiating matches, you turn up for work until you are told otherwise and until they are given further training then they will go on being incompetent.

I think the ref was very brave - people are saying he bottled it but if it had been at the Bridge then he would probably have been described as being a homer. At a febrile Etihad he had the guts to officiate it as he saw it, why would he be biased towards the Pensioners?

As for Fabregas looking where he was going - maybe but F25 acted like a twat and needs to wise up and not lose his rag so easily.

Aguero also needs to calm down, second red card will see him having a lengthy ban and an Xmas break. Maybe he is brighter than we think...

We lost the game by not putting our chances away whilst Chelsea scored from theirs. PG also needs to sort out the defence and maybe start investing in full backs instead of wingers/wide men.

Super Foxes - YOU are next!

Ok, Kirk out.

I accept the point you made in the first paragraph, PGMOL have a lot to answer for, for starters why is a ref from Manchester allowed ref a game involving a Manchester team?

Which brings me on to the question in the next paragraph, his bias apparently lies against us not for Chelsea, no prizes for guessing why that may be.

As for being brave, you saw the whistle go to his mouth? You saw him reach toward his pocket presumably for a card? Then he looks at the linesman, why does he do this? Why doesn't he trust his instinct? Could it be because he's a bottler perhaps? If he is brave why doesn't he book Aguero for diving if that is his interpretation? It must be if he doesn't see it as a foul, mustn't it?

I agree that both Aguero and Fernandinho need to wise up but I also get why they both snapped, it was borne of frustration from the frankly awful officiating they were subjected to throughout, that doesn't excuse it but when emotions are high we all have a breaking point.

You're right, we lost this game because we didn't take our chances but if the officiating had been of a half decent standard we would've stood a far greater chance of winning the game and getting three points against a title rival, if the officiating was any use then that incident with Luiz doesn't happen because the twat is not on the pitch at that stage, we don't lose two of our best players to suspension. Surely you get why people are pissed off or am I just being paranoid and talking shit?

You all seem to have missed one bright point to it all.
The reformed Costa in there trying to break it up instead of joining in !
Now doesn't that gladden your hearts! :082: :066:

Aye but lest we forget Ozi it was that **** that set the ball rolling with his shrieking when Otamendi won the ball cleanly against him. That yellow Otamendi received set the tone for the game and also hindered him when he was faced one on one with Costa for their equaliser.

Otamendi won his tackle fair and square and it ground my gears hearing Tyler and Neville claiming it was a poor challenge. His studs were down, his foot was fully behind the ball and Costa effectivley tripped over his ankle. Costa's reaction was unnecessary but achieved his objective - get my chief opponent on a yellow card early in the game and he will be very wary of getting too close later on.

Taylor duly obliged with the required yellow card.

Seriously annoying
