Late yesterday afternoon, the Football Association announced the result of its three month review of their relationship with gambling companies and that association now comes to an end.

The men in blazers, who run the game in this country, have finally been shown up for the hypocrites they are and by their own hands.
First they get into bed with the gambling world, then they punish a player, Joey Barton, for gambling, even though he didn't bet on a game he was involved in.
It has taken them long enough to recognise the iniquity of their position and to try to do what they should have done in the first place.
Mind you, what else should we expect from the men who have been responsible for taking our game from us and, just like Opera and Ballet, which also started of as entertainment for the masses, sold it to the monied middle classes.
This has killed the game, as we older fans knew it, never again will we see showmen, born in the UK, like Best through to Gazza, in the English game.
