No interest.
If ever there was a year we don't need a cup run this is it

I get your thoughts Silhill, but I do have to disagree, on two points.

First, I know promotion is the ultimate aim of this season. But a good cup run can also breed confidence, keeping the winning run going, and bringing the fans fully behind the efforts of the players. I know injuries/suspensions come into play, but I don't personally subscribe to the 'concentrate on promotion' school of thought.

And second, we've been starved of excitement for a couple of years now, and the 2015 run to the Cup Final was the one bright spark in the past 6 or 7 years. I think we deserve a bit of excitement like that, and there is no reason a cup run should compromise our promotion challenge. Especially if, as many on here seem to think, we have the best squad in the Championship.

Might be a good opportunity for fringe players to show Bruce what they've got/put themselves in the shop window/earn a new contract. Eh, Gabby? :21:

JPA it's a nice romantic notion I know , but as soon as we draw anyone half decent we are out and we don't need to risk injuries & potential promotion etc versus a meaningless run in the whatever it is Cup this year.
We ain't winning it this year that's for sure so let's be realistic

I don't think we will win it, by any stretch. But winning matches, capturing the fans' imagination a little.... all part of the healing process for me.

Injuries and suspensions are a risk in literally any match we play, so I'm never really sold on that as something to fear.

Romance left football a long time ago, and as Mrs JPA will testify, I am far from a romantic :19:

We've plenty of players who need a run out; Steer, O'Hare, Doyle Hayes, De Laet, Bree, etc. The cup is ideal for that.

Precisely. To win a game or two (and the draw has been kind to us) will help fringe players and keep the momentum of the club going. Not that a defeat while fielding a B team would worry us, but a win, a decent crowd (make tickets cheap FFS!!) and we can just build on it.

Liverpool v Everton..... what a cracker for a 3rd round tie

Yes, I'm sure it will slip under the radar and there will be no mention of it in the build up to third round weekend.

Lol, I'm pretty sure Jake Humphries came in his pants when that was drawn.

Not that I was looking at his pants, obviously :12:

I hope Woking win against Posh. Play some of the young guys itching for a chance, make the tickets affordable, get a good crowd in.
What the f**k has Jermaine sicknote got to do with the draw, I know it could have been Danny Murphy and Sicknote or perhaps the Valencia [not for long] brothers
