FA Cup - No Gordon Road for Gills

Just over 2000 fans sprinkled round the ground instead of all sitting together would not have changed a thing today.

That was the point I was making earlier on. There would probably have been more than 2000. Not an awful lot more, admittedly, but they would have been happier because they could have been where they wanted to be, and got more of an atmosphere going, which might have sparked over onto the pitch.

Unless... unless all that stuff about geting behind the lads, and giving the number 13 shirt to the Rainham End for their indispensible support without which the team couldn't function is a lot of old marketing bollocks, and that's a thought that's too horrible to contemplate. Dammit, I refuse to believe it.

Tickets for the Crawley checkawhatsname cup now on sale. Once again, seat restrictions will be in place. Think the club has made three rows of the upper section of the Medway Stand available for this game. Should be a cracking atmosphere.....

Frankly, if the team had played like they really wanted a result, the crowd would have responded. However, there was virtually nothing to cheer. People complain about the lack of interest in the cup but if the players don’t seem bothered then it’s hardly surprising.

Only £10 a ticket for the Crawley game though- even that’s a joke, free for season ticket holders would have been a nice gesture after the crap served up at home for the past 3 seasons!
Failing that if it breaches rules maybe £5 adults £1 kids just to get some atmosphere, it’s a dead rubber match in a dead competition so needs some life in the ground!

No, actually fans are being allocated 3 seats in each dugout.

Today proves that little is gained in the FA Cup by closing parts of the ground. By making it appear to be an unimportant game. t is understandable but unforgivable for the players to not be too interested. From now on everybody at GFC should sell all games to the maximum, all promotional options should be used where possible. Everybody should believe that every match is important, giving the impression that some games are of less concern is short sighted and leads to the kind of performance and attendance we had yesterday.

I've just seen the "highlights". Jeez, we were standing so far off them it looked like a training game. Player attitude definitely not right.

BBC has 1 minute 26 seconds of "highlights" which in itself is quite an amazing achievement - how did they manage that from 93 minutes of total pig shit?
