Don't believe everything you see and read in the press - just reporting what was said to me in the pub at lunch-time by two blokes who were talking to Dick - so might have been mis-understood in translation11
 
Aah collingham and his sources again i didnt think he would know for fact!?
 
Well redimps1 at least I can string a sentence together that makes sense - you will be getting a reputation for trolling if your are not careful - wind your neck in buddy!

Are you saying there were Lincoln fans who refused to go to their allocated seats in strict violation of the ground rules? That they chose to stand in the eyeline of City fans who had paid for their seats and travelled 250 miles to see the game, only to have their view blocked by cretins?

Cheltenham away there were some real knuckle draggers. It’s a shame they weren’t sorted out as they deserved it!
 
There wouldn’t be a club left if some of those ‘cretins’ hadn’t supported the club when it was on its knees, and few others could be bothered.
 
I was down the bottom in a second row seat and had a good view of all the events that happened between their stewards and our ' fans '.
15 minutes before the ko a group of around 15 lads congregated down at the bottom in front of the seats.
The stewards were friendly but told them that by ko time they needed to go to their allocated seats.
7-45 came and went and they woukdnt move and numbers grew to 20/25 ish. No real trouble but they were blocking the walkway and causing obstruction. 15 minutes in and stewards were reinforced and began forcing the lads into their seats up in the stand.
HT, a city fan was forcibly ejected pleading his innocence loudly. I heard a steward say to him that he was seen spitting at the referee as he left the field. This led to more scenes as a small mob began confronting the stewards. The stewards were restrained under extreme provocation with plenty of mobile phones in their faces recording hoping for a reaction. A few lads were forcibly ejected after several struggles. One lad was pulled free from the stewards and escaping back up the stand and out the way. Such was his desperation to cause a scene he re emerged harassing the stewards again. This time they got him and heavy handed they ejected him. This prompted more agro from his mates. This continued into early parts of the 2nd half with a couple more ejections.
I thought the stewards acted very calmly under extreme provocation. If any fellow Imp fans tried to remonstrate with the mob they were threatened.
This is all from memory so may not be totally accurate but gives an idea of the events that unfolded.

And i dont recall seeing any of these people at away games through all the fallow years.
So it certainly wasnt THEM that kept the club going. It was the rest of us that had our match ruined again by them

Sounds very similar to the scenes at Cheltenham and Barnet. At least we know there is an 80% chance they were season ticket holders or got their tickets from ST holders . Traceable?

I can confirm John's version of what happened. Just to add that Alan Long made some space so they all could sit together in the top of the stand, but that was obviously not good enough. I would say the stewards were very restrained in the face of some vile provocation.
 
I echo what has been said by those like Johnolbe, and fuctifino's photo shows some of those involved. It does not excuse their behaviour but Maineroad is also right that a good number of them were present when we used to take well less than 300 to away games.

Alan Long made sterling efforts to sort matters out but was certainly not helped by the fact there was allocated seating. Friends, families and I guess the 617 want to sit together. It is not the same experience if you cannot stand/sit with your mates at an away game.

If they had got the police to remove a couple of them early on the problem might have disappeared. The stewards were poorly lead, too restrained at first, and completely ineffectual by the end of the game.

The Club should, probably through Alan, enter a dialogue with those known to have been involved. Please get rid of allocated seating when away games are sold out or nearly sold out, and tickets are distributed on a one per season ticket holder basis.

Thing is, when you buy your away tickets through evebtbrite, there is a lead name to ensure you can sit together. If you don't chose that option, tough. Sit where you are told.

Cricket, rugby, ice hockey the cinema, the blooming Royal Opera House, you name it with allocated seats, sit where you are told. If you don't like that, then maybe don't go.

The issue is not allocated seating. The issue is the pigheadedness of imbeciles.
