Is this story true in today's press that Exeter fans assaulted our kit man and Nicky after match?
I wasn't there but like everyone saw them swarming on the pitch. This looks quite serious and disgusting behaviour.

Heard Danny say this on Radio 5. He was at pains to point out it was a very small minority of supporters involved, but not good.

Danny is the supreme gentleman and handles himself impeccably with the media. I'm sure the club are fuming though. Exeter need to oust, name and shame the culprits and issue life bans as a minimum. It can't be too hard with cameras filming on the evening. If true, whacking an old man whose doing his job from behind is beneath contempt.

Dick Tacey the kitman is 78 and works for free, bless him.
There's a pic of him on Twitter looking very upset and shaken.
Heard both Nicky and Rheady were hit too.

“ currently not investigating “. Hopefully waiting for an official complaint and then maybe action will be taken. I just hope they catch the morons and they miss their day out at Wembley an beyond

For those who did not make it to Exeter on Thursday the whole stewarding process left a lot to be desired and at match ending no protection was given to our players and plenty of intimidating Exeter fans trying to provoke our players whilst still on the pitch.
The allegations of violence against lcfc staff have been dismissed by local police(see above article)
The exeter fans were allowed to run the full length of the pitch, post the final whistle and end up in front of the the lcfc fans goading and trying to entice violence, poor efforts on behalf of Exeter fc and your ""stewards".
In addition during the game there were shameful scenes of over aggression by the Exeter stewards when trying to remove imps fans who appeared to do little more than stand down the front and beat drums and sing. This could have got very nasty and left a bad taste to the whole evening.
All in all a poor showing Exeter fc in managing safety at your ground where you only needed to control the big bank as most of the ground was under redevelopment.
Daily mail has shots of Rheady and opposition fans etc.
Exeter it was your duty to protect our staff and players and you failed in my opinion, and as for stewarding the less said the better.

Cowley should have let the big un tear the little sods head off.
A lesson worth giving to any kid that thinks they are handy and can do as they Please, there is always someone bigger and nastier than you.

Have to disagree about the stewarding at half time. I was literally right in front of what was happening and it was caused by one or two influential men( who allegedly were there to support the Imps), there were a few others but these were the "sheep", " hangers on" who are easily "led" by influential people. The Stewards remained calm and tried to deal with the issue, which personally I don't think even existed. The police stood back most of the time and in fact Alan Long did a lot of work in calming things down. In my view if there are any Exeter city fans to be banned, there are 1 or 2 Lincoln "fans" who should follow them.

How many Exeter club fans or officials were assaulted?

BikerImp spot on. U must have been near me as it was all right in front of me.
There was deliberate provocation of the stewards right from the start (and yes a couple or so individuals who was clearly intent on instigating fighting)(really disliked them taking close up phone camera shots of the stewards faces and their ID badges)

That said, the stewarding DID seem pretty inadequate and inexperienced. And the total lack of stewarding at the home end, that allowed their fans on the pitch umhindered and put our players and staff in actual danger, was a complete dereliction of duty by Exeter City Football Club. And the club needs severely punishing for it.
In fact, i don't know how they get a safety licence for that stadium.
Something else i noticed was the handrail on the steps up to the gents loos was completely loose and very unsafe.

Dick was in The Clangers in Waddington the day after and said it was all 'storm in a teacup' stuff
pictures in the press say different..check them out.
Dick our kitman was visibly shocked after the attack and DC says tears were visible ,(as was the bump on his head) Allegedly accosted by opposition fans and Dick was very concerned.......that`s a fact.
78 year old bloke accosted on pitch post 90 mins......if it had happened at the Bank we would identify and bring forward the culprits, where possible......disgusting behaviour.
Let us not dismiss this incident lightly, anybody attending the game that night will have been fully aware of the potential volatility post match and the crude stewarding treatment towards our fans.
