Yes, you're quite right: WV said it was the only move he was prepared to consider. Tranmere have got a heck of a player at this level.

Lovely bloke is Will Vaulks. Always did extra training on shooting practice. A good versatile player for us. Plus if I’m not mistaken he’s still involved at Bluebell Wood Children’s place.

Vaulks did great work as an ambassador and I give him great plaudits for that. And he wasn’t the worst player by a long stretch. But I always felt he wasn’t quite as good as others seemed to think he was, and I wouldn’t have been too enthusiastic about a return. The move to Tranmere looks like a great fit and good luck to him.

BBC Football website - not on the move -(may be soon!) , but ex-Millers loaned-in forward Martin Sheriif (of Everton) has been charged by the FA over breaches of betting rules. He played seven league games for us , scoring two goals (late 2025). Looked quite good until he broke down injured... which is more than can be said for most of the MH signings.

BBC Radio Sheffield - Matt Hamshaw has been appointed as assistant manager of our feathered neighbours... specialising in "set piece plays" (!).
They must have watched us in action last season.

My mind boggles. I'm pretty sure on a stats site at the end of last season we were in the bottom quartile of the entire league for defending and attacking set pieces.14/08/26

Rotherham Advertiser website - Angus MacDonald has just signed a 2-year deal at Kidderminster Harriers (National League). Quite a few ex-Millers old crocks are still at the PFA training camp, including Kyle Vassell.

We seem to have a pretty small squad, we haven't paid any transfer fees, we offloaded quite a number of high earners and we sold Nombe and yet SM said he may have to go back to TS to ask for an increase in the budget. Hard to fathom sometimes.
