Alert Team
Ken Mulhearn, a member of Manchester City's 1968 title-winning squad, has died, aged 72.

He was signed for City as cover for Harry Dowd but after Dowd suffered an injury Mulhearn went on to play a significant role as City's keeper in the title winning team of 1968/69 including the victory over Newcastle United which sealed the Championship.

He made 50 appearances for City before leaving for Shrewsbury Town where he made 370 appearances in a nine-year stint before finishing his career at Crewe in 1982.

His legacy lives on through his grandson Harry Lewis who has won England under-18 caps and is currently on loan at Dundee United from Southampton.

Our thoughts as always are with his family and friends.

I saw Ken's debut at City, mainly used as deputy to Harry Dowd, but an excellent keeper.
