Billy scored three for us - one while on loan in the NL championship season, one in L2 and one in the League Cup after signing permanently in the close season of 2017. Three in 38 games wasn't a great return for an attacking midfielder - he always looked better than that, but didn't really deliver.
The League Cup goal I think was the away game at Rotherham wasn’t it?

Yes. Billy's goals:

1/4/2017 Bromley (H) W 1-0 National League
8/8/2017 Rotherham United (A) L 1-2 Carabao (League) Cup
26/8/2017 Carlisle United (H) W 4-1 League Two

Your Dad wasn’t Ken was he?

No, Peter. Played football for St. John's Hospital for quite some years and was offered a trial with LCFC, but turned it down!

Being a man of correct procedure, he asked his then manager who told him no as he had a cup game the next day for his local team. What might have been...

But he did play at SB quite a few times as, at that time, local cup finals were played there.

Grant Smith released by Wealdstone.

Sounds like they needed to make further cutbacks and Smith is interesting Woking so decided to part ways.

This week's NLP included another article entitled, "The gaffer's greatest gaffer". This week Robin van der Laan (ex Port Vale and Derby, now managing Newcastle Town - at same level as Lincoln United) is featured. He mentions Dick Advocaat and John Rudge, but singles his greatest praise for Jim Smith at Derby, alongside his then assistant Steve McClaren

Tyler - playing the lone striker role against a Brum back four with zero support or service for a Coventry side desperate and set up not to lose. Has been handed MOM which sums up the level of the game at 0-0 going into injury time.

Absolutely dreadful game. After 70 minutes, 1 shot on target and 1 corner, and not even a 20 man brawl to liven it up.
Referee, man of the match for staying awake!

I agree it was awful . Would never have thought it was anything but a friendly to be honest

Whitehouse for FGR.

Ellison with a 96th minute winner for Newport. Theo Robinson and Adam Crookes came on for Vale in that game.
