Personally I always wanted England to host a World Cup. I find it a bit odd that anyone under the age of 65 more or less, won’t have had chance to see a World Cup game, and can add a few years till the 1st opportunity.

I used to strongly feel the same way; disillusioned with it all now.

Surely VAR means an end to this kind of controversy

Why is the referee even looking at that incident. If it had happened on the halfway line he wouldn't have gone over to the monitor to judge if its a foul or not.
I thought VAR was for clear and obvious......whatever other words they use to describe it. He gave the penalty judged on his opinion. I thought VAR was about facts not opinions.

The England result doesn't seem so bad after Hungary getting a point against France. Just goes to show, no matter how talented your attacking players are, a well organised, packed and determined defence can come out on top.
