Europa League Squad - Knockout

Interesting chart. According to this IF we beat Fenerbahce we play either Real Betis or Midtjylland again. In the following round we potentially play one of the top two Aston Villa or Lyon. Don't know if there are any special rules about playing a team from your own league, but it will be tough going.

Ferencvaros in 12th seem to have a potentially much easier route,
I think it's better that we concentrate on the league and let this European drift away.
If by miracle we manage to stay clear of third bottom, then maybe we put a bit more effort on the EL but until our Premiership status remains in peril...the EL should be looked at as if its another League Cup.

Forest are already the only team to have won the European Cup more than their domestic league.

I think Forest should be the only team to compete in the Champions League while in their domestic second division!

With 46 league games instead of 38, plus 8 European games and at least 2 cup games, that would really test our current squad, never mind a Championship squad !

CHO
Ndoye
Bakwa
Dominguez
MGW
& Hutch

Plenty to choose from.
Aina on right Williams on left.

Vitor likes to push things through the middle where he forms, what he calls the box.
He usually plays back and forth along back three, occasionally goalkeeper. Everyone getting a rest. Then sudden pass into the box and a switch of play, quick movement and space through the middle. The passing of Cunha and Murillo is important as will be the sudden transition of the four midfielders that make up the box. Expect high press when feasible but if out of shape to drop back and reshape.

The role of CHO, Hutch, Bakwa and Ndoye isn’t redundant, they will just be more likely to be playing much more central rather than holding station out wide. The box could be square in front of back three or diamond, with the left and right points of the diamond being filled by traditional wingers.

Expect the game to be slow, slow, quick, quick, press. Expect Ortega to be far more involved in dictating pace.

Exactly.
Netz might feature on the left.

I kind of want whoever he thinks is his strongest team to start

And the same team v Liverpool all being well

He needs a strong start

And theres no time to learn much

Hopefully his coaching team and him have watched loads of videos to figure strengths and weaknesses

They will know the formation and setup they want. Just pick the best players for the roles.

Big game. Ice baths.

Friday relax and recover.

Saturday walking tactics and set up v Liverpool

Legs should recover physically by Sunday and hopefully they have mental strength to cope

(Remember rotating players gave us this game to start with)

If we have any starters being rested for Liverpool they certainly shouldnt have even flown to Turkey and back as that in itself is draining

Did any not travel we know of?

Go ALL IN tonight and Sunday

Then regroup Monday and assess

(Had dyche still been here i think he would be rotating a bit tonight. Dont think Perreira should. Needs to make a mark tonight I think)

Maybe sub a few of the most knackered ones 70 to 75 mins ish

Strong start worry about resting players later in the season if needed

I think Bakwa is only the right coach away from being a fantastic player

At his last club he would go missing for several games in a row

Then do something brlliant

Fans discussed it when he left

Leads on from me saying wingers lose the ball 70 per cent of the time when taking on defenders

But youve got to at least contribute well off the ball defensively every minute if you will only sporadically contribute going forward

CHO has learnt that

Hutch in process of learning it

Dont think Bakwa had Dyche trust or energy to do it yet

Do you pick him ahead of CHO and Hutch

Assuming we even play 2 wingers Pope?
