eSports League to be funded by PL

Maybe its just me, but does this strike anyone as a weird thing to do? So, the idea is that each PL club will have its own paid eSports players (a.k.a. spotty kids on FIFA...) to play a virtual league alongside the real thing. With grass roots football struggling, why are we paying spotty kids to play computerised versions of the real thing. Too much money, or am I just crossing a line to old age...

Wonder if they will have an international break..?

Tbh I play FIFA but not to the extent of being a 'professional.' Remember these spotty kids as you put it won't be able to kick a real life football let alone play it. As we all know watching is one thing, playing is another!

I myself am far from a spotty kid. And, I do give it my best shot at playing 5-a-side footy once a week. I like to model myself on the ability of Fleck and the enthusiasm of Henderson!
