MEXBOROUGH’S record-setting, goal-scoring football star, Eric Brook, is set to be recognised with a posthumous plaque in his home town.

Brook scored 158 league goals and 19 in cup goals for Manchester City between 1928 and 1939, as well as 18 for England. His record was recently over-taken by current City legend Sergio Aguero.

One wonders what tribute City will pay to the Argentine goal scorer when the time comes.

A statue perhaps. Wouldn't have to be a big one......

Nice find, Skoorb.

I love it that these heroes are not lost and forgotten in the mists of time and that they will be continued to be remembered and rightly honoured.
