Morgan shouldn't have been give the job, should have been out the door with Cook.

We have Wright, Butler and Hales who are 3 of the most feared batters in the short form of the game and only one played any time in the world cup.
 
also our bowling simply doesn't seem good enough and that is down to a lack of variety as well as poor tactical decisions, from I assume the coach, as this seems to be historical, despite who leads the team.

Also Kiny mentions three top youngsters, but I also felt that not picking Ben Stokes was a major error
 
Wasn't Stokes busy on the lash yet again on a recent tour ? The inner circle seems to rule the roost - like some other place we all know so well!
 
there were supposed to be discipline issues with Stokes, but surely that is also down to the management and senior players like Morgan, Anderson and Broad, all of whom looked well below par and for me, Broad looks a shadow of the bowler he once was, and is perhaps going to struggle to play the tests later this summer unless he starts well. his good fortune might well be that he doesn't yet have many or any serious challengers.

As for Morgan, his captaincy has been average unimaginative at best and his batting terrible. do we no look at removing him, Bell, Anderson and Broad from the future limited over formats and take long term views on the rest, who for me and still the best or at least part proven group we have available
 
Ox, my point exacatly if the likes of Stokes were meant to be looked after the likes of Morgan, Anderson and Broad what chance have they got. certain elements of the squad bigged them up so much so to be irreplaceables - only the disastrous Ashes enforced the demise of the 'can't do wrong boys' in the likes of Swann, Prior, Bresnan, Finn and Trott otherwise they'd still be in there ... With appointment of Moores and Downton and constant irritant Peitersen around - dark clouds ahead for a long while yet!

Not surprised as it has been a closed shop for the boys for a long while.
 
Start afresh for me.... Root, Ali, Hales and Butler as the main nucleus of the team and let's see ... oh I forgot the glorious leadership of Cook from the last post .... classic case of what happens when folks think they can't achieve any further yet keep playing !
