End of Season Awards - Hilton Hotel

Not at £96 per head!

Price of success I guess! The ordinary fan like us is priced out of these things and the people with cash who jump in when you are successful get to go!

The price of success.

Btw the Mrs and I attended a so called soul night at the Hilton earlier this year and it was crap, awful food and awful band...

Unfortunately it means the fans no longer have the opportunity to applaud the winner prior to the final home game, which I used to look forward to every year. A shame they have taken this simple pleasure away from us.

Seconded,

At 96 notes per head, it's around a third of the price of an adult season ticket. So it basically means that your average Joe fan, like me and the majority of us are priced out of the market. Voting with me feet. I'd rather have a Double M's hotdog.

Thirded,

Club has to be very careful here because they are treading a fine line! It's all very well lauding up the so called great and good and those with cash but when we finally come back down to earth it's the ordinary fans like us who were here before these unprecedented times that they will need.

This whole end of season awards dinner thing like last year leaves a bitter taste in my mouth tbh. One of the very few negatives from our recent success. But heyho what can you do!

Let's be honest, it's not intended for plebs like us. The Prawn Sandwich Brigade are back!

Emailed the address provided in the article earlier today and I haven't received a reply yet. Probably won't do either!

Don’t understand two ceremonies, to the normal spectator like you and I it may appear that the 2nd ceremony to be more of a “lower decks” ceremony. Bit of an after thought maybe !

Disappointing.

There is no reason why the customary awards, as voted for by the fans, should not be given out prior to the Yeovil home game in front of all of those fans, regardless of whether our season might be defined by the result. This is an issue the fans board, trust etc should be championing. LCFC can invent other categories for their non-inclusive/commercial events should they so wish but it is a minimum requirement that player of the season, away player etc are at the very least announced on May 5th

I always found it a bit odd that the awards were given out before the start of the last home game especially if something was riding on that match. The Torquay game in 2003 springs to mind where we were very flat after all the awards given out and should have probably been well behind before Yeo's rocket got us to the play-offs. Highly likely the Yeovil game will be the same this season and the giving out of awards on the pitch beforehand might distract from the job in hand,

That said this dinner smacks of a corporate thing and not for the die hard fans. Not sure if there's any feasible option in it just being given out at a fans night at the club. I suppose there isn't an easy please all option here

£96!!!! Not meant for those of us in the cheap seats is it?
Miss them not doing before the final home game and announcing the top 3.
Heard they only announced the winner last season at the do.

Regardless of fans, the awards are for the players. Would you rather get an award at a swanky hotel with an average three course meal and posh folk politely clapping or ... and bear with me here ... in front of 9000 crazy signing red and white striped fans who are pouring out their love for the team and chanting your name. Hmmmm I'm pretty sure that after watching the team celebrate on the pitch last season that they are all going to plumb for the swanky hotel!?

The event itself really doesn’t bother me. I’ve never been before and won’t be going this year. It’s a good way for the club to rake in some cash. However, it’d be better to be before the final home game.
