Embargo lifted

unless the takeover is complete..............

Of course. But surely we get told that same time?

I'm thinking that the new owners would have asked for those accounts to be submitted though so they get confirmation the embargo is lifted so they can be happy to complete the purchase?

NEP saying its an agreement between the two parties to release the books.

doesn't mean takeover is close to completion.

that will be Henri gone.

But you can still sell during an embargo anyway.

Me too which means tail is finally wagging the dog. Let's hope they keep pushing the clown

Only people bothered about lifting the embargo would be the new owners

Fawaz would be going loan or free transfer route if the deal was failing

It can only be a good sign

Loan players recalled and paper work submitted means the club is no longer in total stasis. Something has moved on in the takeover negotiations. It could be that the Americans are closer to completing and have requested it, or Fawaz is making preparations to continue without selling up. Either way it seems like we might find some news out sooner rather than later now.

True. Maybe the deal is done but they don't want to announce a day before the match, out of respect for PM and the players. Early next week...

There is one embargo rule which prevents you selling players if the league feels this is leaving your squad too short to fulfill fixtures

y

I think announcing a deal is done would only boost the morale of all concerned

nothing can be done for PMS mood at this stage

It just means someone has agreed to cover the liabilities - could be FaH or JJM- I hope it's the latter.

It has to be Fawaz who has agreed to cover liabilities for those accounts to be signed off

There is no way on earth that the yanks would have guaranteed to cover liabilities of a club they don't yet own!

Accounts for a period when they weren't even involved

Has to be Fawaz.

Paul Taylor said today it was his understanding that "[the US consortium] have put a significant amount of money into the club already". He was referring to the period since the collapse of the Marinakis deal.

I'm surprised that more hasn't been made of this but that is what he said.

Hopefully it is their intervention rather than one from al-Hasawi that has assured the FL that the club can continue as a going concern.

Nat Jackson just said on bbc news that the club have confirmed the embargo has been lifted but no takeover deal completed yet

Well, at least something's happening.

And lifting the embargo means we can do some business before the January window shuts.

I'm hoping this means the takeover is pretty much complete rather than Fawaz has seen off the Yanks and is about to sell all our decent players.

Though if it's true you can sell players while under embargo (how could it be a transfer embargo if you can conduct transfers though?), Fawaz could have carried out such an evil scheme without getting the embargo lifted.

So what if we beat Birmingham five nil tomorrow??
Will they still sack PM??

A slightly more realistic scenario where he would keep his job is if Montanier is actually behind the buy out and as chairman intends to keep himself in the job for ever.
