Apparently a £4m bid accepted by Brentford, and there's us with a 20% sell on fee (as per Wiki), kerching!
I may be having bad day but I think that 20% of £4m is £800K i.e. Brentford would owe us something like £325K.They paid us an initial £400k, plus £25k for every 20 games, he's played 70 games, so Brentford will have paid us a total of £475k, so we're owed approximately £700k. Nice.
A total of approaching £1.2m for a player we can't really claim to have brought through our youth system is pretty good going.

I was under the impression that it's 20% of any profit made on the deal, so £3.525m our cut would be £705K, I may be wrong though.I may be having bad day but I think that 20% of £4m is £800K i.e. Brentford would owe us something like £325K.
He does, it clearly states that it's 20% of profit on the EFL page detailing the terms of the fee.
It's a fallacious discussion because none of it will go into the playing budget anyway. When was the last time a windfall was used to strengthen the team?
