EFL 2 Week 1 Away Attendances

Not for any reason other than interest- this week's EFL 2 away following (except Swindon who consistently don't seem to list away fans numbers). I'll endeavour to post each week.

From week 1, a great effort by Morecambe fans down to Crewe (the result sadly didn't follow) and Tranmere certainly enjoyed their day out to Stevenage.

Cambridge United 421
Carlisle United 235
Colchester United 369
Crawley Town 141
Forest Green 72
Lincoln City 1453
MK Dons 397
Morecambe 336
Newport County 320
Tranmere Rovers 1075
Yeovil Town 227

Imps made the top 10 of all EFL clubs away following this weekend which is some achievement.

Swindon are terrible for putting out away figures, although a Swindon fan did find and popped the figure on 1ff.

There was also a plonker in with the Northampton fans (and the main singing lot at that) who couldn't contain himself when we scored so we get more bad press .

I have sat with home fans before and they clearly know I am a Lincoln fan but when we scored I just gave a little first pump and we enjoyed some banter. I mean come on show some common sense and a little bit of restraint if you are going to do that surely!

Think the Lincoln fan was actually mates with a couple of cobblers who got him a ticket in there with them

It will be interesting to see the stats after we have played Grimsby away in two weeks' time.

Glad some find the stats interesting!

I will post the cumulative season average (probably every 4 weeks) for each team as well as the season progresses

All sources for the away fans number is taken from either official club social media feeds or, as for Macclesfield at Swindon, local media feeds.

As for the Imps- I would suggest it will likely be Tranmere (2nd October- a Tuesday night) before we don't have a "full" sign on the away allocation this season in the league.

Very good effort from Morecambe given their home crowds.

I read on Northampton's forum about a Lincoln fan in the home end, @Casperimp!

For 10 minutes it was more interesting watching the crowd, the stewards and then the Police in the Northampton singing end than it was watching what was happening on the grass. More for the sense of anticipation than anything else, because there was precious little of that on display for most of the day - and then in the end not much happened, which is pretty much what happened on the pitch too.

It was soon after we scored, so I reckon he must have found it very hard to contain himself!

Would Tranmere have been a sell out. Not sure how many away end at Stevenage holds. Otherwise I imagine if Northampton had a bigger away end and pay on the day, we would probably have taken 2000+ ?

Tranmere is a 2500 away end which won't get filled on a Tuesday night in October.

Well
Well he was an idiot then !and now will have a banning order.

Well he wasnt wearing a red and white shirt or anything. And he (presumably) did not commit any criminal act but he was ejected simply for being an away fan in a home fans area. That in itself can hardly be against any law.
So a banning order or indeed any penalty would surely be absurd

Wasnt he fighting?

Compare that to the idiots we had at several away games last season & what they did, merely sitting in the wrong place seems unbelievably mild.

Well guess if he was fighting (not sure) then possibly home fans attacked him? Doubtless video will show the actual events.
If he did assault anyone then obviously a different situation.
