east coast floods

hard to believe its a year since the coastal floods,
a year on and they are still very much clearing up in Lowestoft,
homes are still being repaired,businesses re locating and the promenade being shored up with Norwegian rock !
my home town is punch drunk and down on its luck,employment is crap and unless we see a new bridge crossing in the next decade things will only get far worse.

What the area needs is transport investment . While the Goverment wasts money on shite smart motorways the A 47 to the Midlands and North gets nothing

our major employer is birds eye and goodness knows why they have never relocated elsewhere,i pity the town if they ever do,
where once fishing,shipbuilding and coach building were the norm now there is little else,
the only saving grace "could" be the power industry,wind turbines et al. we will see....

I remember Eastern Coach Works . They built some fine buses . Same with Great Yarmouth SC . the major employers have gone ( Erie Resistors , Birds Eye , Norfolk Line) and there is little left . A desperate situation for both towns
