Dreams

Do other people have strange dreams? Recently I have been having the same dream over and over, I am in bed asleep and can't wake up, I can hear people talking, things going on around me but just cant wake up..... Eventually its get to the point where I wake up to realise I am dreaming.

I then have the task of getting back to sleep :3: I know as you get older the dreaming seems to get less and you need less sleep but do you guys still dream?

I dream, but have no recollection of the dreams after a few seconds . I shout, I kick out, I fling my arms out.
I do know that I double dream too, wake in a dream and believe I'm awake , then actually wake up l. I also stop breathing and hold my breath. It's all fun.

I think if I was holding my breath I would be shit scared to go to sleep......

I have mental dreams. Some so bizarre that it's hard not to think about them the next day. Most dreams I have I can make sense of and see the connections, no matter how abstract, with things going on in real life.

One recurring dream I have is (surprise, surprise with me) UFOs. Probably once every few months. I love them. Sometimes it's huge fleets in the sky, sometimes just one. But always in the sky, never landing, no contact.

I did read on some dream meaning site that UFO dreams mean changes coming into your life. Or something. Maybe I just like UFOs :171:

Yes I still dream: crazy dreams, dreams about life and then there is the night terrors and nightmares

Did you manage to break into the fortress and steal the secret? Or do you have to go down another level for that?

Oh God just read your post Trekker: I do that, have double dreams when I think I am awake and I am not

The breathing thing is due to be investigated.

Is it sleep apnoea Trekker? I understand that is all to do with breathing, because the vast majority of us breathe 'wrong' - we predominantly breathe through our mouths instead of our nose.

Our next-door neighbour is a Buteyko practitioner, and specialises in breathing re-training, mainly for asthmatics, but also for other conditions, sleep apnoea being one of those conditions. I would be interested to hear how you get on,and would be happy to put you in touch if it might help.

For my part, I'm sure do dream (don't we all?), but I can almost never recollect anything that happened. I do wonder often if what happens in one's dreams shapes our mood/behaviour/emotions for the following day.

I tend to go through phases when it comes to dreams. I have a period were I have dreams regular, and periods when it seems I don't.... that I can remember.

At the moment, I appear to be going through a none dream period.

That's interesting JPA.. saw a programme on that years ago, adopted the holding breath practice and stopped using inhalers.

I dream. I like dreaming. I didn't like my alarm going off the other morning when I was about to....

and I shall leave it there.

Yes I'm being investigated for sleep apnoea , I will let you know. I find it extremely difficult to breathe through my nose due to 4 broken noses and very narrow nasel passages after 2 sets of plastic surgery

Has anyone had the old hag dream? I've had it a few times when your body can't move but your mind is awake. It's not a nice experience.

My housemate gets that. There's a documentary about it called The Nightmare I think, haven't seen it yet but it sounds interesting.

I have the knack of waking from a pleasant dream and then going back to sleep to continue it. I can also defy gravity. i don't fly but I can walk without my feet needing to touch the ground.
Those are the nice ones.
I do have a couple that recur that are not very pleasant. Both are very similar. In one, I am sitting an important exam and realise that because I have not studied, I am going to fail. In the other, I'm back in my selling days, it's coming close to the end of the quarter, and I haven't sold anything for months. I'm certain I'm going to be fired.

I used to do that in my younger days Kef, walking in a dream and not touching the floor.
Since Pad Wright stopped selling me the tomato plants to smoke the dreams have stopped.

Another recurring one I have is being at a great height usually sitting or crouching on a ledge or something similar and feeling a horrible dread of falling off. The anxiety running through my body is almost painful.
