Don't Fear The Sweeper

The loans. I think we need to take a step back on the contributions to the shared salaries for loan outs and how we got to where we are. Numerous lazy commentators would have the world believe City are continually spending sugar daddy money when in fact the club is now self sustaining. Initial outlay to get the club rolling was necessary as was paying big salaries. Job done. Established.

That continues to this day. A necessary evil. Look outside the city and the Stretford Galacticos gradually abandoned pontificating hypocrisy to foot the biggest wage bill in England to try to win the league.

Pep Guardiola, a tougher operator than Mancio was has looked at the squad, particularly the old guard and made the hard decisions he is paid to. No room for sentiment. Nor time. We have seen at City how trying to keep everyone sweet takes away a cutting edge and I believe we lost a league season because of it. Better players who are not in Pep's plans are offloaded now whatever it takes rather than have them hanging about the campus fed up. Sure, they aren't clean offloads but we can afford it.

The new money pumping into the Premier League also means the likes of Ed Woodward and Txiki Berigstain can afford to make big purchase errors with less pressure.

We are at the top table now Blues and becoming an elite club. I guess these are the breaks.

We need to maintain the start where Sheikh Mansour poured money into not only the Club by buying players but the whole project which surrounds the Etihad, the constant effort to sabotage the sleeping giant. The Promise that the aim was to get the Club to be self sustaining.

It has been a long time since I heard the Club was making a profit and this has been down to hard work by those behind the scenes. Finding partners for the Club and then spreading the Brand world wide.

We are not there yet in terms of a great fan base, but even now the Academy is stretching its wings and more and more players are going out on loan to learn their trade and hopefully come back better players either to fit into the squad or be sold on as profit for the Club.

We have to keep this going as the evil ones in the FA/Uefa and FIfa spawned out of Old Toilet, still plot to put the Giant back to sleep for good, that last bit was poetic licence and there is no need to take it too seriously.
